Morpheus is one of the most powerful beings in the universe by the end of The Sandman's debut season on Netflix, and it's all thanks to the King of Dream's ability to rule over our subconscious minds. He's also immortal—as are his other six family members, Destiny, Death, Desire, Despair, Delirium, and Destruction.
Of course, the most powerful character in The Sandman so far is the titular character. Dream, Morpheus, or the Lord of Dreams may start out as a weak and vulnerable member of the Endless stuck in a mortal cage, but he soon regains his abilities as he seeks out his tools one by one.
Marko flees to a nuclear testing site on a beach near Savannah, Georgia where he comes into contact with sand that had been irradiated by an experimental reactor. His body and the radioactive sand bond, changing Marko's molecular structure into sand. Impressed, he calls himself the Sandman after his new powers.
She may not have been there when the universe began, but she will be there when it comes to an end. Only then will she meet her own end. Death is the strongest of the Endless because of how necessary she is, and because she will be the last of them to exist.
One of the most powerful - and the funniest - versions of Sandman in the comics is the Sandmanatee. This version of the character, from Earth-8311, the world of Spider-Ham, shares all the powers and abilities of the main universe Flint Marko.
Thor is a very mortal god who sleeps and dreams, so Dream would use that against him. The Sandman could alter the Asgardian's mind and nullify his powers, ending the battle without ever throwing a punch.
Water: The Sandman's weakness that makes him most vulnerable is water. Water can soften his sand granules therefore, Sandman cannot control them and has to wait for them to dry.
The least powerful of the Endless is poor Delirium, who was once Delight. The story surrounding her transformation is a mystery, but the other Endless treat her as the damaged kid sister of the crew. Delirium is a manic pixie dream girl for the ages, except that her ridiculous dreams can come true through her powers.
More than a mere personification of abstract concepts, each Endless is the idea itself, making them immune to death or destruction. While even god can be slain, a fallen Endless is merely replaced by another version of itself because the universe cannot function without these concepts.
They are depicted as among the most powerful beings in the setting, distinct from most gods, as gods are created by mortal belief. Dream is the protagonist of The Sandman series, but all the Endless play major roles in it.
When Spider-Man put an end to the Osborn syndicate, he brutally defeated him and his allies. Sandman eventually discovered that his sand form granted him immortality, and went on to live for five billion years more.
The first magical tool in Morpheus's arsenal is the pouch of Dream Sand. The brown purse looks like a regular bag, filled to the brink with sand. However, the sand inside is never depleted, giving its wearer an infinite supply of Dream Sand.
How do you kill Sandman? Expose him to extreme heat. Sand, when in contact with high temperatures, turns to glass. Once he's turned into glass and therefore immobile, insert him into a standard rocket ship, and blast him into the sun, with an atomic bomb attached for good measure.
Dream was one of the seven Endless, powerful beings that are older than gods. He went by countless names; such as Oneiros, Morpheus and Sandman. He was the personification, as well as the lord over all dreams and reality.
All it took was a bite from Venom to somehow poison Sandman and cause the rogue to decay and, eventually, lose the ability to hold his body together—ultimately killing Sandman for a time. Venom would only need to do repeat this to put a stop to Sandman again.
The Endless are the anthropomorphic representations of powerful natural forces they embody. They regard themselves as a family, referring to each other as siblings, and they are known to be the children of the cosmic entities Night and Time.
Father Time is the personification of Time and rules over his domain. Time is the father to the Endless and with his partner Night, made all of Creation possible. However, in present times, Time and Night are separated and estranged from their families.
By the time he returns the Kindly Ones are in the heart of the Dreaming. Morpheus summons his sister Death, who kills him. Morpheus dies. It's not a comic book death (except, technically it is, but you know what I mean).
Death is the second oldest of the Endless and the elder sister of Dream. To the ancient Greeks, she was known as Teleute. A generally kind and upbeat individual, though this was not always the case, billions of years ago she was quite cold and pragmatic.
The Endless are as old as the concepts that they represent. The Endless are said to be older than the fairy-folk, gods, and other supernatural beings.
Stars, gods, and monsters all have to dream. This is a soft power but it's built into reality's structure. Everyone sleeps and everyone dreams. This makes Dream more powerful than even his siblings, with the possible exception of Destiny, who has power but never seems to use it.
A winsome and engaging (yet tough as nails) young woman, prone to a Goth appearance and Egyptian adornment (Ankh), and eye makeup (the Eye of Hours), Death is the second oldest of the Endless and the only one allowed to travel freely through the others' realms without first asking permission.
In The Sandman universe, Death is the most powerful Endless. The power levels of the siblings are largely related to their age. The older an Endless is, the more powerful they are. However, despite being the second-oldest Endless, Death is said to be their most powerful member.
Sandman is peaceful by nature who never speaks as he doesn't want to wake anyone up, but instead communicates with his expressions and forming images from his Dreamsand.
There is a whole scene where people self harm and commit suicide in different but gory ways, including puncturing their own eyes, cutting their limbs, burning themselves, and stabbing.
