Newt Scamandar is just a few years younger than Albus Dumbledore. He is not a contemporary of
Initially, Newt Scamander was only mentioned in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone as the author of the book Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, which was used as a textbook for Care of Magical Creatures by Harry Potter and his classmates.
Newt was later expelled from Hogwarts, but was able to keep his wand. He got a job in the British Ministry of Magic in the Beast Division of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.
Harry Potter is based in the 90s and Newt passed away 91-92 so he would not have been involved or even alive during Harry's time at Hogwarts; he was born late 1800s.
Newt believed that magical creatures were not dangerous if treated with respect, and Buckbeak only attacked Malfoy when he disrespected him. Due to this, Newt would have gladly traveled to Hogwarts to defend Buckbeak and try to prevent his execution, causing him to appear on the Marauder's Map.
Because Newt is 29 years old and the oldest we see Harry do magic is 17. We also usually only see Harry practicing magic in school or using defensive spells whereas Newt is using practical spells beyond what you would use in school. Well, in the books we do see a lot more than in the movies.
He's Luna Lovegood's grandfather-in-law
Luna Lovegood ends up marrying Rolf Scamander, who is Newt's grandson. If grandson is anything like his grandfather — which is quite likely, as both are magizoologists — that means we can expect Newt to be a bit of an eccentric. His family history supports this.
Though the seven books don't show or reference Newt interacting with the characters we know, in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them textbook, Albus Dumbledore mentions in his foreword that he was honored when Newt asked him to write it.
Did you spot Newt Scamander in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban? You'd have to have the lamp-like eyes of Filch's cat Mrs Norris to spot this one: Newt Scamander actually appears in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and not just as a name on a textbook.
Newton Artemis Fido "Newt" Scamander is a half-blood or pure blood wizard who is a framed magizoologist and the main protagonist of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them franchise.
In an alternate universe, Newt Scamander isn't traversing the globe in search of magical creatures, but causing trouble and opening the Chamber of Secrets at Hogwarts as a young Tom Riddle.
Voldemort has yet to appear in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, but he is still part of the overall timeline and it's possible to guess what he's doing during that time. The Fantastic Beasts series is part of the Harry Potter universe, and takes place years before the events of the Harry Potter film series.
At the end of the last film, Grindelwald told Credence he was really Aurelius Dumbledore – the previously unheard of sibling of Albus. However, that wasn't entirely true. While Credence is a Dumbledore, he isn't the brother of Albus, Aberforth and Ariana. In fact, he's Aberforth's secret son!
The Theory Claims Newt Scamander Gave Aragog to Hagrid
In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Hagrid was incredibly cryptic over how he obtained the creature, with the only thing known being that he got Aragog from the pocket of a traveler.
“The reason he loves Newt is that Newt loves beasts and I think he thinks he's a beast.” The actor continued: “I think he thinks he's dark, that he's seen and done things that he wishes he hadn't and he's constantly pulling himself back on the right moral side.”
Newt isn't a conventional wizard, but he is one of the most powerful wizards in Harry Potter.
Eagle-eyed fans might have already spotted this: the appearance of Scamander's name on the Marauders Map Fred and George Weasley gave Harry for Christmas in his third year at Hogwarts. The magical map reveals a 96-year-old Newt Scamander wandering the halls of Hogwarts. Was he there to see his old teacher Dumbledore?
We know that Snape's mother, Eileen Prince, was disowned from her family because she married a muggle, Tobias Snape. Had Queenie been Tobias' mother, he'd have been either a squib or a wizard, and he was neither.
No. You do realize that Hagrid is his surname and that his first name is Rubeus, right? If Newt Scamander were his father, then his name would be Rubeus Scamander. Not to mention that Hagrid stated that his father died while he was still a student, while Newt was still alive in the 1990's.
Eddie Redmayne said that he believes the character has autism during an interview. One important note is that such speculation has been ongoing since the first film aired in 2016. During the initial phase of the argument, Asperger's was frequently used in place of autism.
Godric Gryffindor, the founder of Gryffindor house, was one of the most powerful wizards of his age, so powerful that he was said to be the greatest duelist of that era. Always ready for battle, Godric wouldn't just use a simple wand, he'd also wield a mighty sword.
And though Merlin isn't explicitly mentioned much in Harry Potter, he does pop up here and there. He's the reason that the phrase 'Merlins beard' exists (as I mentioned earlier), he's on a Hogwarts portrait, he's on a Chocolate Frog Card, and he's even the founder of an organization called 'The Order of Merlin'.
