The symbiote's raw power coupled with Kasady's sociopathic personality made it so neither Spider-Man nor Venom could defeat Carnage alone. However, even with their powers combined, Carnage proved to be a deadly enemy.
After several long, drawn-out battles, Spidey was able to both defeat these new Avengers and Carnage himself. Although he did get some help from S.H.I.E.L.D. and Venom, this was one of the greatest battles between Spider-Man and Carnage.
In the majority of battles the two superhumans have had, Carnage tends to come out on top. He is simply too powerful for Spider-Man. The webhead often finds himself overwhelmed not just by Carnage's strength, but also by his unpredictable, chaotic nature.
Carnage nearly defeated Spider-Man until Bentime tricked Carnage into reverting into human form, enabling Spider-Man to knock out Kasady with one punch. The Carnage symbiote was supposedly destroyed in conflict, and Kasady was sent back to Ryker's Island, where he unexpectedly transformed during his time.
Venom was extremely powerful
Simply put Venom could be frightening to Spider-Man because he possessed considerable raw power. Venom had better versions of most of Spider-Man's powers plus shape shifting, invisibility and a costume that could transform into a variety of offensive and defensive weapons.
Venom's twisted hate of Spider-Man, and his brief time as Spider-Man's costume, has led to his powers continuing to mimic Spider-Man's. Venom has a warning sense due to its alien origin and can swing from building to building in a similar manner as Spider-Man, using "webs" generated from the symbiote.
Peter has sadly been one of the MCU characters who experienced a lot of loss at a young age. He's now had to watch the likes of Uncle Ben, Tony Stark, and Aunt May die before his eyes, and the fear of losing his loved ones is his primary concern.
The best chances are iron man, Thor, Scarlett witch, and black venom. Carnage has bitten through adamantium but not vibranium so enough kinetic blasts might work. Scarlett witch can just wipe him from existence. Thor has resisted symbiote a before and carnage has never been shown handling anything like his god blast.
The bond between the Carnage symbiote and Kasady was stronger than the bond between Brock and the Venom symbiote. Cletus Kasady was also a serial killer and thought of as insane. As a result, Carnage is far more violent, powerful, and deadly than Venom.
Later, Venom and Spider-Man had to team up to stop Carnage. During this time it was revealed that the symbiote had become a part of Kasady's blood and was irremovable from him. Kasady only needed to be cut for the symbiote to flood out to become Carnage once again.
Venom assimilates and takes on the powers and abilities of his host or hosts. Venom's form seem to always be modeled by the person it has bonded with. As it is made from Spiderman's DNA, its primary abilities every since it first bonded with him became permanently like Spiderman's, even when using a different host.
In Spider-Man 2099 Meets Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099 has a brutal fight with Brock's Venom. And it all ends with Venom fleeing. It's refreshing to see Venom being given a proper beatdown.
Carnage seemed the superior symbiote to Venom in nearly every regard, so how did he lose to Venom? The main reason was because the Carnage symbiote was not a perfect match with Cletus like Venom was with Eddie.
While he wasn't as emotionally dangerous as Green Goblin, as intertwined with Parker's life as Doc Ock, or as morally ambiguous as Venom, Carnage was portrayed as the ultimate adversary of Spider-Man. Unsurprisingly, Spider-Man has bonded with the Carnage symbiote on a few different occasions.
It's likely going to come down to their powersets. In that case, Carnage has a healing factor, but Sandman doesn't. Sandman also doesn't pose much of a threat, because sand is mostly harmless unless it's forcefully ingested. In truth, Carnage is just more powerful overall.
In addition, Venom has come out on top as the victor in many battles with Symbiotes like Carnage, Hybrid, and Scream (all of which are arguably more powerful than he is).

More Powerful: Toxin
Toxin proved to be so much more powerful than both Carnage and Venom that the two wanted to take him out together, but Spidey, who saw the good beneath the power, helped Mulligan use his symbiote to fight more nefarious versions of his own kind.
It was the first time that Carnage was truly a threat on the Avengers' level.
In nearly every iteration of Carnage's character, he is the offspring of Venom. The Klyntar, the race of aliens that the symbiotes belong to, reproduce asexually and can transmit their offspring to other hosts.
The Norman version of the Green Goblin is usually regarded as Spider-Man's archenemy.
1 Mephisto Rewrote Spider-Man's Reality
Of all Marvel villains, none have succeeded at ruined Peter's life more than Mephisto.
The Green Goblin, specifically Norman Osborn, is Spider-Man's arch-enemy. Norman barely edges out Doc Ock and Venom for the dubious honor. Osborn is uniquely sadistic and ingenious among Peter's enemies. Osborn's murder of Gwen Stacy is still the deepest wound a super-villain has inflicted on Spider-Man.
