In one of the later books, Hermione even makes mention of this by stating that the Sorting Hat was heavily leaning toward placing her in Ravenclaw. In the end, the Sorting Hat firmly recognized her bold courage over her intellect and decided to place her in Gryffindor.
And this is why Hermione does not fit into Ravenclaw, since she lacks their creativity of thought. When you also add in her fearlessness and her strong convictions about right and wrong, which are inherently Gryffindor traits, then there was even less of a chance she'd end up wearing blue and bronze.
Ron Weasley
Being Harry Potter's best friend certainly needed heaps of bravery – hence the Sorting Hat not messing around in sorting Ron into Gryffindor, the house of his parents, brothers and sister. But the Hat specifically states that Gryffindors usually have 'daring, nerve and chivalry'.
Hermione could have been in any House except Slytherin. Hermione could have been a Hufflepuff because she is diligent, friendly (yes, friendship is also Hufflepuff trait, generally speaking) and loyal to a fault. Hermione could have been a Ravenclaw because she is brilliant—the brightest witch of her age.
Although Hermione was sorted into Gryffindor, the Sorting Hat considered Ravenclaw for her. However, despite her intelligence, her values weren't necessarily always aligned with Ravenclaw's. Hermione was more brave than witty, as shown in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone when the trio got trapped in Devil's Snare.
She's seen as a bit absent-minded, is easily distracted, and is extremely eccentric in both her disposition and general outward appearance. But that's what makes her a perfect Ravenclaw. She loves learning, but unlike many of her housemates (or Hermione, for that matter), she can never know enough.
He actually asked the Sorting Hat to place him in Hufflepuff, as he was intimidated by Gryffindor's reputation for bravery, but the Sorting Hat didn't agree. They debated it for so long, that he was close to being what is known as a Hatstall, which is a term for any student whose Sorting takes longer than five minutes.
Any Hogwarts house would have been lucky to count Luna Lovegood amongst its numbers, but with apologies to Gryffindor, Slytherin and Huffepuff – we reckon the Sorting Hat got it right with Ravenclaw!
Her real parents were Daneel and Dean Novak, Pureblooded wizards. Turns out Daneel was Tom Riddles younger sister, Daneel Riddle. Of course, the Riddles were related to Salzar Slytherin himself, and this made Hermione the living heir of Slytherin. The problem with being a female Slytherin heir, is that they're cursed.
Poor Harry certainly had his fair share of it over the years, and no one inspired more survivor's guilt in him than Hufflepuff Cedric Diggory. We pose that Cedric's death is the main reason Harry never wanted to visit Hufflepuff.
The only quality she shares with Salazar Slytherin is being a dark wizard. Bellatrix actually belongs in Hufflepuff. She is fiercely loyal to Voldemort, standing by his side the entire time. She also waited for his return while stuck in Azkaban with the patience only a Hufflepuff could have.
Although there are strengths to every house, Hufflepuff house in particular often comes up short. While the other houses seem cool and invite a certain allure, Hufflepuff is a little different. Often considered the least desirable of all the sorting options, here are some reasons why Hufflepuff house is the worst.
Harry Potter battled with the Sorting Hat over his desperation not to be placed in Slytherin. Years later, his son Albus arrived at Hogwarts with similar preconceptions. Meanwhile, Neville Longbottom was so intimidated by Gryffindor that he nearly became a Hufflepuff.
Because the sorting hat considers not the qualities one possesses, but the qualities one value. Dumbledore may be a brilliant wizard, but he valued bravery above everything else.
Even J.K. Rowling says that Hufflepuff is her favorite House. It's produced the fewest Dark wizards of all four Houses. Hufflepuffs are down-to-earth. Literally, their House colors represent wheat and dirt, symbolizing their humility (rather than the precious metal secondary colors of the other Houses).
Moaning Myrtle
Born in the late 1920s to Muggle parents, Myrtle Warren started her Hogwarts life in the early 1940s, where she was sorted into Ravenclaw. She had no friends, and was bullied relentlessly because of her glasses and acne. But she would soon have all of eternity to get her own back.
The Heir of Hufflepuff was a person foretold by the Seer Harmonthrep (Ajrand) to bring great glory and honor to the House of Hufflepuff, considered boring and lackluster by most.
Cho Chang is a Ravenclaw student one year above Harry, and is the Seeker for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. She is Harry's first love interest, is described as being "very pretty" with long dark hair and is frequently accompanied by a group of giggling girls.
Hogwarts Legacy guides:
Hufflepuff's common room is behind the school kitchens and is full of vegetation, whereas Ravenclaw's is at the top of a tower, behind the statue of an eagle.
He is a Slytherin. She is a Ravenclaw. They have been thrown into their own defining worlds of cunningness and wisdom. Can one unexpected meeting with Draco Malfoy, the cold Slytherin, twist Aurora Ollivander into something dark and unwanted?
Ginny is a pureblood witch born 11 August 1981, the seventh child and only daughter of Arthur and Molly Weasley. She attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and is sorted into Gryffindor house, along with the rest of her family.
As a proud Hufflepuff, I believe that one of the greatest mysteries that has yet to be answered in the Harry Potter series is why the spiteful and obnoxious Zacharias Smith was sorted into the house known for its kindness and loyalty.
Hufflepuff has produced the least amount of Dark wizards
' In fact, the most evil deed we can remember a Hufflepuff ever doing was Ernie Macmillan wearing a 'Potter Stinks' badge. Ouch!
