L Post (Standard): L bends are usually used for initial piercings because they are easy to get in. They are also a nice choice for someone who has trouble getting the U shaped screw in, or who likes to change their jewelry often. They are easy and relatively secure.
The end that is inside your nose should be pointing straight up or down, depending on your preference, and you shouldn't be able to feel it. If you can feel it or its just uncomfortable, readjust it's position. L-shaped nose studs are easy to insert but that also means that they can come out of your nose pretty easily.
The L shaped nose stud is bent and shaped like an L, hence the name. Thanks to its shape, once inserted, it sits firmly against your nostril.
Why does my jewelry stick out? Nostril screws are initially bent to fit your nose and your piercing during the healing process. This means that the jewelry, at first, will be slightly larger in order to accommodate for swelling. This may cause the screw to protrude from the base of the nose.
A: The most secure nose studs would be the corkscrew and threadless options. Threadless Nose rings have a flat back and the gem is secured into place from the front of your nose. Corkscrew Nose rings curve at the end meant to prevent it from falling out of your nose.
An internally flat labret is a stud with a ball or charm at the outer part and a flat back that holds the ball in place. It looks like a nose bone from the outside, but the flat back makes it more secure. An internally flat labret stud is a great option if you're looking for a nose ring that won't fall out easily.
Your nose piercing can take 2–4 months to heal enough to be able to change your jewellery. Please keep in mind your piercing has only healed enough for a quick jewellery change over. Your piercing can still close or shrink significantly if you leave jewellery out for a long time.
It happens frequently for nose rings to fall out, especially when one is asleep. The major cause is typically that the clasp or ball can come undone when the nose ring is bent or twisted, causing the nose ring to fall out of the hole.
L Shaped Stud
They're one of the best starter nose rings because they're so easy to use. There are also so many cute nose ring options with L-shaped posts. L-shaped nose rings are considered more comfortable than the standard alternative – the corkscrew nose ring.
If this is your first nose ring or piercing in general, this can be cause for concern. But don't stress - nose rings are generally a bit loose. This is by design, actually. In fact, if your nose ring fits tight - there's a problem.
Nose Screws
Nostril screws have a spiral-type curve halfway down the stud and this threads through the piercing then rests against the inside of the nostril to keep the jewelry in place. L bend nose rings stay in the same way, but they have a 45-degree bend instead of a twist/screw.
Is Nose Screw or L Shape Better? While a nose screw is often recommended for people who want added security in their piercings because it does not fall easily, it's not always necessary for everyone. The nose screw is uncomfortable to wear, unlike an L-shaped nose stud.
This type of nose studs are also an extremely sturdy and secure option when tightly screwed in, so no worries, they are much less likely to fall out!
It can introduce bacteria and can put you at risk for infection. Which can prolong your healing time. Avoid getting the piercing wet for at least one to two weeks. So, when you shower, try to avoid putting your face directly under the shower head.
While every piercing is different, most new nose piercings will need at least a month to heal to the point that you can safely remove the jewelry. However, longer waiting periods (up to two months or longer) are usually preferable.
Pain Scale: 5 on a scale of 1-10. The pain scale is 100% subjective and based on clients' feedback. Nostril piercings are said to be a bit more painful than lip or ear lobe piercings, but not as painful as septum piercings. Aftercare: Keep the area clean to avoid infection.
Symptoms of piercing rejection
Signs that a piercing is migrating and possibly being rejected include: more of the jewelry becoming visible on the outside of the piercing. the piercing remaining sore, red, irritated, or dry after the first few days.
Nose bones are straight posts with a sharp point or small ball on the inside, so when inserted the ball is pushed through and holds the jewellery in place. We do not recommend either style of jewellery for long term wear, especially nose bones as they can damage your piercing!
Nose studs come in three main prong types: the L-shape, the twist, and the bone. L-shape Prong: The L-shape prong is shaped like an L, as the name implies. It's inserted into the nose piercing at a 90-degree angle, and the bent end of the jewelry sits along the wall of the nasal passage, keeping the jewelry in place.
Studs: A twist nose stud is a good option for a first-time nostril piercing, as it's comfortable, secure, and stays out of the way. These studs have a curved post that fits through the piercing. Hoops: Small nose hoops, such as a captive bead ring, are good for brand new piercings.
