Even with Superman and Spider-Man fighting side by side, it takes all three heroes to defeat Venom. Venom fends off Superman and Spider-Man with relative ease, and is about to kill both of them when Access attacks him with a sonic generator - taking advantage of the symbiote's vulnerability to sonic frequencies.
Marvel and DC actually pitted these two super-powered beings against each other in All Access #1...and shockingly, Venom is actually stronger than Superman.
While all of the Marvel and DC crossovers have involved Superman brawling with some of Marvel's strongest characters, Venom remains one of the few who managed to win. The fact that Venom beat Superman is strange considering characters as powerful as Juggernaut and Doctor Doom could barely put up a fight.
1 Would Lose To: Superman
At all. Superman is much stronger and faster than Carnage could hope to be and he's smarter too. He could just stay off the ground and bombard Kasady with heat vision. He could freeze him with his ice breath.
Captain Marvel
Her powers could not only stand a chance against Superman, but most likely beat him as well.
Despite the fact that he has bested several magic-powered foes in the past, Superman has no real defense against the Scarlet Witch. While Wanda's human form could allow Superman to best her in a purely physical fight, her ability to alter probability and use magic inevitably puts the odds in her favor.
He's not weak to magic. It's never been a thing that he's weak to magic. The only time Superman has been overcome, is when he's held himself back. Superman at full strength would kill Wanda.
Whether it is his superhuman strength, speed, vision, or invincibility, Superman has the edge over most foes, with fighting skills and experience that are unmatched. It's no surprise that Superman would beat the web-slinger rather easily.
The Man of Steel can only be defeated by Captain Marvel using energy absorption. Captain Marvel, a Kree-Human hybrid, is a cosmic-level superhero who has overcome even greater challenges. Although Superman truly is the pinnacle of strength, if Captain Marvel can find a way to depower him, it's game over for him.
While kryptonite is Superman's greatest weakness, he's susceptible to other forms of energy and threats. This makes Billy Batson — aka Shazam, the World's Mightiest Mortal — one of Superman's greatest opponents. Batson can transform himself into an incredibly powerful adult body when he says the magic word "Shazam."
The resulting battle between the two remains one of the toughest fights Superman has ever fought, and one of his most humiliating defeats to date. Bragging of his previously going toe-to-toe with the Juggernaut, Venom is able to match Superman's physical strength.
Hawkman is one of DC's most formidable heroes, and that would go a long way in a fight against Venom. Venom has the strength advantage, but Hawkman's flight and dive-bomb attacks give him great weapons against the symbiote bonded hero.
9 Would Lose: Venom
Venom is extremely strong and resilient which would make him a tough opponent to beat for any superhero, Batman included. Batman might defeat Venom if he was facing someone who would be the symbiote's new host, but don't bet on the caped crusader just yet.
Even though Superman is often considered the most powerful character in the DC Universe, Shazam definitely comes close, and he can even beat the Man of Steel. And with a massive power upgrade, there's no question that Shazam can meet Superman blow for blow—despite the upgrade's terrible side effects.
As far as strength is concerned, it's pretty much a wash. Earth's yellow sun gives Superman immense strength, while Black Adam's strength is, literally, a gift from the gods, specifically Amon. A street brawl between the two could go on for days with neither gaining the upper hand.
If Superman had no weaknesses at all, no Avengers would have a chance in front of him. While Superman is known for his incredible strength, speed, and other superhuman abilities, there are a few Avengers who could potentially give him a run for his money.
The most notable weakness to his name is kryptonite, radioactive slivers of his home world able to reduce him to a severely weakened state. Other wild cards such as overwhelming strength and magic can do real harm to Superman.
To that end, he created Amazo, who had the combined powers of the original Justice League, including, the Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Superman. Capable of using the powers to their fullest extent and in any combination, Amazo is simply stronger than Superman in every way.
Since they both possess superhuman strength and speed, their fight might go on for days. However, according to Greg Pak — Marvel's writer, who worked on several comics featuring the Hulk, Superman would win their fight because of his virtues: “Superman, being who he is, will not just make his enemy angry.
The red-sun radiation negates Superman's invulnerability in regards to Spider-Man, allowing Spider-Man's punches to hurt Superman until the radiation dissipates, and Superman is again invulnerable.
Thanos would win in a battle against Superman. He has more powers and abilities at his disposal and excels at both unarmed and armed combat, which was never Superman's greatest strength.
Marvel has alluded to Carol's weakness against magic quite a few times in the books. But in a battle against Superman, she is practically invulnerable. She won't have to use Kryptonite to defeat him because she could take advantage of the red sun radiation.
Superman has no special resistance to magic, so to beat Strange, he'd need to use his speed to avoid any dangerous, magical attacks. Superman may be WAY faster and stronger than Strange, but the years of experience and resources Strange had pulled him the win.
When it comes to raw strength, Superman is more likely to outmatch Captain Marvel. Based on how their powers work, Captain Marvel is almost always at maximum capacity with her abilities, whereas Superman can only grow stronger the longer he is under a yellow sun.
Kryptonians Can Beat Black Adam (Despite His Magic)
As the Justice League reflect, while Superman's specific vulnerabilities give Black Adam a chance against him, that doesn't mean the two are equal in power, and the Man of Steel is the clear winner in any comparison.
