Every single Minion is a dude. So where are all the lady Minions hiding? In an interview with The Wrap, Minions creator (and director) Pierre Coffin explains there's a reason we don't see female Minions. Easy answer, they don't exist.
Minions are all male because they're 'stupid and dumb,' says their creator.
Other fans viewed them as boys who occasionally cross-dress: all of the Minions have male names, such as Stuart, Kevin, and Bob.
Pierre Coffin, who created the characters, has revealed his reasoning. “Seeing how dumb and stupid they often are,” he said to the Wrap. “I just couldn't imagine Minions being girls.”
It's unusual for a movie to rely so heavily on a cast of males, but Minions creator Pierre Coffin says it's thanks to their general cloddishness. “Seeing how dumb and stupid they often are, I just couldn't imagine Minions being girls,” Coffin told TheWrap.
According to evolutionary biologist JV Chamary, the Minions probably had to have reproduced sexually. Why? Science says that the Minions' genetic diversity wouldn't be possible if they reproduced asexually, so they had to have gotten busy in some way or another.
Nudity and sexual activity

TL; DR: Minions do not reproduce at all, as there is no need to.
Minions' voice artist and co-creator, Pierre Coffin, has confirmed the reason Stuart, Kevin, Bob, and their fellow Gru devotees, are all male. The undeniable stars of the hit Despicable Me franchise, the Minions, have all been confirmed as male by co-creator Pierre Coffin.
And so, however many Minions exist now is the same number that have existed through the centuries. They are basically immortal, even if the animators prefer not to answer that question outright. "We're just sort of making things up as we move along," Coffin said.
The Minions originate from the animated movie franchise, Despicable Me. The Minion Yellow represents warmth, optimism and joy which is in conscience with the personality of the characters in the animated movies. They are a species of tiny henchmen who closely resemble the shape of a mike.
What kind of language do the Minions speak? The Minions speak Minionese, sometimes called “the Banana language”. Minionese is what's known as a constructed language – or “conlang”. Conlangs are often a feature of works of fantasy and science fiction.
We didn't want to bring that out into the open too much and start to continue a storyline with characters that we hadn't seen set up earlier.” Without Stewart, Bob and Kevin, it will be up to Mel to take charge of the Minion situation in the film.
Agnes Gru is one of Gru and Lucy's three adopted daughters, alongside her big sisters Margo and Edith.
Gru is the son of Marlena and the Bald Terror, twin brother of Dru, the adoptive father of Margo, Edith, and Agnes, husband of Lucy, and the boss of the Minions.
As seen in Despicable Me 2, after the first minion became a purple one, he lost his goggles and his eyesight dramatically diminished, and he was no longer able to see properly. The goggles, or glasses, are a way for them to see the world and help their masters, without it all being blurry and confusing.
Phil is one of the three Minions (The others being Tim and Mark), who were sent to get Agnes a new toy. He is dressed up as a baby as he went with Mark and Tim, dressed as a dad and a mom, to the store.
Minion Phil is a two-eyed, spiky-haired Minion who doesn't get a lot of screen time, but is infamous for his lovely French maid attire. While Phil was cleaning the house, there was a knock at the door. When he answered it, he got abducted.
An 11-year-old boy who dreams of becoming the world's baddest supervillain.
In Universal Pictures' Minions, the three lead Minions are Kevin, the “big brother,” protector and leader, Stuart, the rebellious “middle brother,” and Bob, the innocent, eager “little brother” who loves everyone and everything.
Minions live forever; Their birth was at the dawn of time, as lots of people know.
The more obvious reason why they have one or two eyes is that it is used as a plot device so that the Minions can be distinct to movie viewers.
Minions have only three fingers, possibly because most classic cartoon characters are drawn with only three (or four or five) fingers.
Their fingers ARE genitals, that's why they wear gloves.
Their genitals only appear when they have to make more Minions.
Cinemas are now banning people from wearing suits to screenings following the explosion of the bizarre "gentleminions" trend. In case you didn't know, the second Minions movie was released in theatres in the US on July 1.
