This is a great overall lip balm suitable for pretty much everyone. I have multiple of this product floating around my house, handbag, car and office. It's hydrating without being sticky or too thick and it doesn't have a strong scent like a lot of other lip balms have. And as a bonus, it's very affordable!
IMO, this is the best non-medical lip balm. It's moisturizing without a weird scent or waxy feel. So happy to find this soft and moisturizing (not gummy and pasty) lip balm, especially since my go-to for years, Lypsyl, is not longer available. Better than the original Chapstick!
NIVEA's Repair & Protection Lip Balm provides an intense level of care and protection for lips that are prone to excessive drying. The 24hr melt-in moisture provides deep, penetrating moisture support and SPF 15 protects your lips against UVA and UVB rays.
Applying NIVEA Lip Care products can halt and slow the drying process. Preventing chapped lips and applying NIVEA lip balms is an essential part of a healthy daily lip care routine.
Nivea lip balm will not darken an individuals lips. There are no harsh chemicals in the lip balm to change the color of someone's lips.
Lip balm is a wax-like substance that is applied on lips to moisturize and relieve chapped lips. However, even if it is hot every day, you should not be using lip balm all the time whenever you are out and about. Because too much of a good thing is also a bad thing and unfortunately, it can damage your lips more.
2) Can I use lip balm every day? Yes. If you have dry lips or have a habit of picking them, apply lip balm regularly and every day to moisturise and keep them soft.
"Lip balms that contain only humectant ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid and glycerin, can actually make lips more dry because they attract moisture, and if the air is very low in humidity, then they can pull moisture out of the skin, and then the moisture evaporates away," King says about healing lip cracks.
NIVEA Creme treats chapped lips and gives you moisturized lips free from dryness, chapping and peeling. Use it as a lip balm, apply to your lips with focus on both corners and leave for 15 minutes, then remove it with a cotton pad and enjoy rosy, moist and bright lips.
Despite the hype, I'd definitely choose Nivea Lip Butter over Vaseline Lip Therapy. The former has nicer scent and better texture. The healing power of Nivea Lip Butter is also much, much, much better!
Apply lip balm or a lip care stick to your lips every day. Be careful: the oil content should be very high, and it mustn't contain too much water. That's because if the water evaporates from the lips, they'll dry out even more.
For any lip product, we recommend using it for only a year after it's been opened. Expired chapstick can have bacteria and fungus, which can cause skin issues and irritation, especially if your skin is sensitive.
Avoid lip balms that contain menthol, camphor, phenol or any sort of alcohol. These ingredients may provide an immediate cooling sensation but can irritate the skin. In some cases they even remove the outer layers of skin leaving your lips unprotected and susceptible to environmental hazards.
So, should you use chapstick or Vaseline? Both! Chapstick moisturizes dry lips, and Vaseline helps in sealing the moisture in and keeping the skin barrier intact. While you can get away with using just chapstick, there is no point in using Vaseline without applying chapstick first.
Constantly applying these to your lips could cause long-lasting damage to your skin or otherwise dry out your lips instead of making them more moisturized.
Is It Good To Sleep With Lip Balm On? The skin cells on your lips regenerate during the night, while you sleep. Wearing lip balm during this time helps nourish your lips and gives the new skin cells an extra added layer of protection.
"These formulas create an artificial barrier to lock in moisture, but when overused, can cause lips to become lazy because the skin doesn't have to work to maintain its own hydration level," Zeichner explains, adding you have to wean yourself off your lip balm addiction and tolerate a little dryness before your lips ...
Lip balm doesn't contain any addictive substances. Using it excessively doesn't cause the lips and surrounding area to stop producing natural moisture. At the most, you may be hyperaware of your bare lips, much like you'd be aware of how naked you are if you stopped wearing clothes.

It goes without saying then that perhaps the Carmex and Blistex are not the best options. The Nivea Sun Protect Caring lip balm is the best option and the one I'd recommend.
