These skilled swordsman are the pillars of their organization. They protect all of the other Corps members, and are regarded as the strongest among their peers. Finally, these elite warriors are highest in rank besides the Corps leader. There are nine total active Hashira in the anime.
8 The Mist Hashira - Muichiro Tokito
Aloof and in his own head most of the time, The Mist Hashira named Muichiro Tokito is first introduced to fans in one of Demon Slayer's best episodes, the Hashira meeting where Tanjiro and Nezuko's fate will be decided.
Before the final blow was struck, killing the Demon King, Muzan took down with him some heavyweights namely Obanai Iguro, Mitsuri Kanroji, and Gyomei Himejima— the last of whom is crowned as the most powerful Hashira. By the end of the manga, only Sanemi and Giyu were the only Hashira remaining.
9 Tengen Uzui, The Sound Hashira
This is especially true when compared to some other Hashira in Demon Slayer who boast truly impressive powers. As a result, Tengen Uzui has to deal with the moniker of being the least powerful Hashira around. Of course, that's not the worst thing in the world, as all Hashira are strong.
So while there were only nine official Hashira, I do believe it would be possible for there to be more than nine if possible.
These skilled swordsman are the pillars of their organization. They protect all of the other Corps members, and are regarded as the strongest among their peers. Finally, these elite warriors are highest in rank besides the Corps leader. There are nine total active Hashira in the anime.
10. Kanae Kocho. While it's unfortunate that Kanae's plotline plays out before the event of the main narrative of Demon Slayer, her story's end is all the proof we need for her power. She was the powerful Flower Hashira who also used a special sword to inject Wisteria poison into the demons while slicing them off.
Featured character Tengen Uzui has also been a heavily debated character as a result, specifically in regards to power scaling. It seems as though some fans feel as though Uzui is the weakest of the Hashira in the series. While he's certainly not the strongest, he's far from the weakest as well.
No they would not the fight happened, in the manga and the Hashira needed “extensive” outside help to beat Muzan Rengoku Muichiro and Tengen weren't there because two are dead, and one retired but the 9 Hashira by themselves cannot win.
Muichiro Tokito is a mist Hashira, and by extension, the most powerful mist-breathing user. Muichiro's first appearance in the anime was during the Rehabilitation Training Arc when the protagonist, Tanjiro, is introduced to the Hashiras for the first time.
5 Hashiras who die in Demon Slayer, and how it happens.
The primary role of a Tsuguko is to step into the shoes of the Hashira they serve under, should the Hashira no longer be able to fulfill their duties. This can occur when a Hashira retires or passes away.
The Wind Hashira has one of the saddest backstories in Demon Slayer. His mother had turned into a demon and had killed five of his siblings. He was forced to kill his own mother in an attempt to save his only remaining brother, Genya.
When it comes to pure strength, Shinobu Kocho is the weakest Hashira in Demon Slayer. She doesn't even have enough strength to decapitate a demon's head and she makes up for it by injecting poison into the demons.
Muichiro Tokito is the youngest out of the Hashiras, being only 14 years old. He is recognized as a prodigy among the Demon Corps, becoming a Hashira only two months after becoming a Demon Slayer. This shouldn't come as a surprise seeing as he's a descendant of the Upper Rank One Demon, Kokushibo.
Tanjiro's Current Demon Slayer Rank Is Kanoe
Not many of the Demon Slayers' ranks are known as of Season 2, but there are a few. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke have moved from Mizunoto up to Kanoe due to their exploits. Murata, the Demon Slayer, who was almost digested on Mount Nagumo, is also a Kanoe.
1 Mitsuri & Obanai
Unfortunately, the Serpent Hashira also succumbed to his injuries. He and Mitsuri confessed their love and died together shortly after.
That being said, Tanjiro's rank is unknown, and his rank was last revealed in the Entertainment District arc. In that arc, they were at Kanoe, which is fourth from the bottom. Since Kiriya Ubuyashiki announced the disbanding of the organization, Tanjiro doesn't get the chance to become a Hashira.
The secret to Gyomei's powers is that they are governed, regulated and enhanced by his emotional capabilities. So in a sense, his crying is a sign of his strength rather than weakness. As a gentle giant, Gyomei's character can be seen as a deconstruction of what makes a person strong in Demon Slayer.
Tanjiro decapitates Akaza with the Hinokami Kagura: Setting Sun Transformation. Akaza was bewildered, wondering how Tanjiro did not have any fighting spirit, comparing this feeling to fighting against a plant. He acknowledges that Tanjiro surpassed his speed.
The Insect Pillar of Demon Slayer Corps, Shinobu is undeniably the smartest individual. She might not be physically stronger than others, but her intelligence is what kept her going. Shinobu is proficient in medical knowledge and can also create poisons out of wisteria flowers that are lethal to demons.
Unfortunately, the answer to this question would be, no, he did not. Zenitsu, along with Tanjiro and Inosuke got way stronger than average corps members with training. In fact, he became one of the very few to even invent a new form of Thunder Breathing. However, his dream of becoming a Hashira was never realized.
