Multiple studies have concluded that men find women more attractive during ovulation. This is the one time a month that the ovaries release an egg ready for fertilization. So it's the time when women are most fertile, and men seem to be biologically programmed to pick up on that.
The face of fertility
There is also some evidence that women's faces are more attractive to both men and women near ovulation. The attractiveness effect is weaker when the women's clothing and hair are obscured in the photograph. So clothing and hair are clearly important, but they're not everything.
When you know your average menstrual cycle length, you can work out when you ovulate. Ovulation happens about 14 days before your period starts. If your average menstrual cycle is 28 days, you ovulate around day 14, and your most fertile days are days 12, 13 and 14.
Human males also detect the high-fertility (ovulatory) period in women by bodily odour [4], which may act as a form of sexual stimulant for men [5, 6].

New European research has found that although women's menstrual cycles don't affect which men they are attracted to, as previously thought, women do appear to find all men slightly more attractive when in the fertile stage of their cycle.
Being medically well, following a good diet and lifestyle are prerequisites for fertility. Considered to be the basic checks, if you have managed to maintain good health, follow up on treatments and medications, do ample exercise and practice consistent care and hygiene, you are fertile.
A woman in her early to mid-20s has a 25–30% chance of getting pregnant every month. Fertility generally starts to reduce when a woman is in her early 30s, and more so after the age of 35. By age 40, the chance of getting pregnant in any monthly cycle is around 5%.
Peak male fertility is around 25-29 years old. Sperm quality begins to decline at 30. At 45, men begin to experience a significant decrease in semen volume. Older men can also take longer to conceive a child.
They reported that women likely to be in the most fertile (follicular) phase of their menstrual cycles preferred more masculine faces than women in other phases (or at least preferred faces slightly less feminized than the original composite male face).
Best biological times to have a baby
Typically, the 20s mark a time of high fertility for both males and females. According to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, females experience a slight reduction in fertility in their early 30s, and this will decrease significantly between the ages of 35 and 45.
The report also showed that the average (or mean) age of mothers for all births rose from 24.6 years to 27.2 over the past three decades. Over one-half of all births still occur to women in their twenties–the peak childbearing years–but the average age in this group has shifted steadily upward since 1970.
Both high fertility and peak fertility are periods in which the likelihood of conception after unprotected intercourse is highest. The most significant difference between high and peak fertility is that peak fertility occurs closer to the time of ovulation—the day before and the day of ovulating.
Doctors call the part of the cycle around ovulation the fertile window because the chance of pregnancy is highest at this time. For example, if ovulation occurs on day 14, a person can conceive on that day or within the following 24 hours.
High fertility refers to the portion of a woman's cycle where her fertility window opens. During this time, your ovaries start to produce more estrogen as a dominant egg grows in a follicle that is eventually released during ovulation.
A gap of 3 years or more greatly reduces the chances of sibling rivalry. By this time the older child is secure in him or herself and quite independent. In addition, the mother's body is fully recovered from the challenges of pregnancy and birth of the first child.
Despite the growing trends mentioned above, two children still seems to the ideal number. An actual study revealed one to two children is the ideal number for “happiness”, but with two you don't have to deal with the aforementioned only child issues.
If you are thinking about having a baby in your late thirties or early forties, you are not alone. Women ages 35-45 are increasingly becoming first-time moms. And most healthy women in this age group have healthy pregnancies, births and babies.
Spiking sex drive
An increase in libido is linked to the hormone estrogen, which is high during the days before ovulation. This can cause us to feel friskier than at other points in the cycle. Sex drive tends to slump after ovulation day as the estrogen levels drop and our period approaches.
A trained expert checks your sperm count, their shape, movement, and other characteristics. In general, if you have a higher number of normal-shaped sperm, it means you have higher fertility. But there are plenty of exceptions to this. A lot of guys with low sperm counts or abnormal semen are still fertile.
Men whose AGD is shorter than the median length -- around 2 inches -- have seven times the chance of being sub-fertile as those with a longer AGD, a study finds. When it comes to male fertility, it turns out that size does matter.
