During the battle of Hogwarts, virtually all Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors chose to stay and fight Voldemort. So basically, Hufflepuffs have all the bravery of Gryffindors with none of the boast and bluster.
Gryffindor is the most famous house out of the four due to the main three characters of the Harry Potter series being sorted into this house. The house of the brave and the daring Gryffindors are known for their courage and strict moral compass.
They're the house that supplied the most supporters in the battle of Hogwarts at the end of Deathly Hallows, after Gryffindor. Crucially, Hufflepuffs stayed to fight not because they were battle-hungry like their Gryffindor compatriots but because they felt a sense of duty, J.K Rowling has said.
The Hufflepuff Traits
As you can see in the picture above from Pottermore, Hufflepuffs are loyal, patient, fair, hard-working and true. I fit into these traits so easily. My loyalty doesn't just lie with my friends, but also with my work.
In Philosopher's Stone, the Sorting Hat describes Hufflepuffs as 'just and loyal' and says 'those patient Hufflepuffs are true and unafraid of toil'. In Goblet of Fire we learn that 'For Hufflepuff, hard workers were most worthy of admission. '

Gryffindor's often thought of as the best house, as it's the focus of Harry's time at Hogwarts.

What does Hufflepuff mean? Hufflepuff refers to one of four Hogwarts houses in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Characters are sorted into these houses based on their characteristics, and Hufflepuff is known for having members that are patient, fair, hard-working, and sometimes blandly nice.
Even J.K. Rowling says that Hufflepuff is her favorite House. It's produced the fewest Dark wizards of all four Houses. Hufflepuffs are down-to-earth.
Smart, brave, not too bad on the eyes, Cedric was perhaps the first to change everything for the good Hufflepuff name. He proved that Hufflepuffs could be intelligent, they could be noble, and that they are indeed "unafraid of toil" as the Sorting Hat once said.
