Disney Cruise Line Guests 21 years and older may bring a maximum of 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage and at each port of call.
Alcohol. The drinking age when onboard a Disney® ship is 21 years of age, except, when sailing from European countries or where the drinking age is under 21 years of age. Disney Cruise Line® does not prohibit guests from bringing alcohol on board.
Let me repeat that: the wine or champagne you can bring MUST be in your carry-on bags. Additionally, any alcohol you bring on the cruise can't be enjoyed in any lounge or public areas. So, you need to plan to drink it in your stateroom or on your balcony.
Fun For All Ages
Even as an adult, there is no better place to let out your inner child than a Disney cruise. Adults are welcome to meet all their favorite characters like Mickey & Minnie, Anna & Elsa, Chip & Dale, and many more.
Yes. Each Disney Cruise ship offers a number of areas reserved exclusively for adults. Guests 18 and over can enjoy: Stylish, sophisticated nightclubs and lounges featuring cocktails, entertainment and dancing.
Disney Cruise Line has a variety of bars, lounges and nightclubs on board each Disney Cruise Ship. And believe it or not, alcoholic beverages can be found nearly everywhere! From wine at dinner to a wide array of cocktails, beer, wines and spirits in each lounge, you can even get Baileys in your coffee.
Q: What age must a Guest be to drink alcoholic beverages on the ship? A: The drinking age on board is 21, and a valid photo I.D. is required.
Plenty of Adults Only Spaces and Activities
Adults can take advantage of the more private 18+ spaces throughout each ship. After hours are from 10pm to 2am on all four Disney cruise ships; so if you're a night owl hoping to step away from a day spent around kids, you have bar, lounge and nightclub options.
**NOTE** Teenagers will be Charged adult fares (13-17). Child rates apply to ages 3-12. Children ages 0-2 pay 50% of the child rate. This does not impact access to areas of the ship that are designated as “18 and over” (like the spa, adults-only pool, and the adults-only restaurants (Palo and Remy).
Disney's Oceaneer Club and Lab are the two clubs for kids ages three to 12 on all four Disney cruise ships. Parents can drop off their kids anytime between roughly 9 a.m. and midnight or 1 a.m., and trained youth staff will watch the children and lead them in a wide variety of activities.
Many of the beverages served during your cruise are complimentary. However, all alcoholic beverages and certain other drinks will be charged to your stateroom folio. Beverages included at no extra charge: Soft drinks, coffee and tea served during meals.
If you're looking to save money on wine while on your Disney Cruise, check out the “Sommelier Bin” on Disney's cocktail menus. For just $10 per glass, you can choose from a selection of white, red, or sparkling wines.
Disney Cruise Line staterooms are cleverly configured for families in the bathrooms, too. Most staterooms will have a split bathroom, where one room contains a bathtub and shower combination with a sink and the other room has a toilet and a sink. Both allow family members to either help a child or split up for privacy.
To ensure the comfort of all guests, Disney Cruise Line does allow smoking onboard in designated areas. On the Disney Dream, you can smoke anytime on Deck 13 forward, on the port side near Currents Bar, or on Deck 12 aft, also on the port side in the outdoor area accessible through the Meridian Lounge.
Guests are not allowed to bring beer or hard liquor onboard for consumption or any other use. Alcoholic beverages (beer, seltzer, or hard liquor) seized on embarkation day will be returned at the end of the voyage provided that they are in the original sealed package.
Will I need to bring cash, credit cards or foreign currency with me on my cruise? A: During the time you are on the ship, you will not need cash or a credit card—all incidentals, purchases and services will be charged to your stateroom folio.
Overall, based on our experience, I'd say Disney Cruises are best for kids between three and 10. This is the age range when kids generally enjoy the Disney elements the most. Of course every kid is different – if your teens still love Disney, they'll be happy on the ship.
Disney Cruise Line for Adults
From sun-up to well past sundown, adults can escape to exclusive locations and experiences—from exciting nightlife and an adults-only pool area, to intimate dining and luxurious spa treatments.
Or, if you are traveling with kids but crave some quiet time just you and your partner, there is plenty to do. After many experiences aboard Disney Cruise Line, I can safely say it is one of the best cruises for couples.
Hello, Joy! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for sailing to us to ask a question about one of my favorite subjects... Halloween on the High Seas! I'm very happy to share that adults are encouraged to dress up in their ghoulish garb to trick-or-treat and take part in the frightfully fun festivities.
You arrive at a port that will inevitably be crowded, wait in a crowded place for an extended period of time, then board a crowded ship. The ship feels crowded because the staterooms are not ready when most people get on the ship. This leaves everyone, and I mean everyone, roaming the main areas with carry-on luggage.
Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board with the following exception - at the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day only, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring one 750-ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne, per person, in their carry-on luggage.
Unlike most cruise lines, there are no casinos on the Disney Cruise Line ships. You won't find an adults-only smoky room filled with blackjack tables and one-armed bandits, instead DCL offers boisterous games of BINGO filled with song, children, and sometimes hefty cash prizes.
The Disney Cruise Line provides guidelines for bringing food onboard. You are welcome to bring nonperishable snack foods with you as long as they are sealed and in their original packaging. Perishable foods, open food containers, and homemade foods are not allowed on board so please plan accordingly!
