Battra then returns the favor coming to Mothra's defense. Regrouping, the two moths decide to join forces against Godzilla, determining him to be the greater threat to the planet. Eventually, Mothra and Battra overwhelm Godzilla and carry it over the ocean.
Godzilla racks up wins against Gigan, Ghidorah, Mothra, and a slew of others in this era, but does draw against the first crossover with everyone's favorite ape: King Kong.
After Godzilla killed Mothra, two of her offspring encased him in silk at the end of Mothra vs. Godzilla. Mothra won in Godzilla vs. Mothra as well, but only because of an alliance she made with Battra.
Battra. Essentially Mothra's counterpart, Battra only appeared in 1992's Godzilla vs. Mothra yet still made an impact on the franchise. It is an intimidating creature with a phenomenal, fearsome design (both in terms of its larvae stage and final stage).
Godzilla is definitely more powerful. However, Mothra is eternally reincarnating, and thus has the wisdom of the Ages. Plus, the nature of her power very different. She can fight(as Ghidorah and Rodan learned in the latest film), but a great deal of her power is in nurturing, healing, and guiding.
King Ghidorah is considered Godzilla's greatest rival and for good reason. He's bigger, badder, and stronger than any other kaiju Godzilla has fought.
Mothra : mothra is by far the weakest of the six main titans in the monsterverse. Not that she's weak but she doesn't really compare to the others .
During the final battle in Boston, she duels Rodan while Godzilla faces off with King Ghidorah. While it appears as if Rodan outmatches her, Mothra emerges victorious by stabbing him in the chest with her stinger.
Immortality: Mothra is effectively immortal as she has the ability to asexually lay an egg from which a new specimen will be reborn. It has been confirmed that each new Mothra born from an egg is not simply an offspring, but rather a true reincarnation that genetically inherits the memories of her ancestors.
Kaido's human form boasts godly durability and strength, and he also ate a Devil Fruit that grants him a gigantic dragon form that's even stronger. In this reptilian form, Kaido could most certainly defeat Godzilla in a clash of the titans and prove all the legends about him true.
In the battle between Ghidorah and Godzilla, Mothra sacrifices herself in order to protect the legendary creature. When she dies, she gains a sense of intelligence and compassion. The trailer for the upcoming film Godzilla vs. Kong depicts her bow to no one.
Battra (バトラ Batora) is a dark divine moth kaiju who first appeared in the 1992 Toho Godzilla film Godzilla vs. Mothra. A dark counterpart of Mothra, Battra was created by the Earth itself 12,000 years ago after an ancient civilization created a climate-controlling device.
In most of her appearances she usually has trouble dealing damage & lasting long in a fight. This is due to being either old (1961, 1964, 2003) or she was purposely weakened for a movie (2001s' GMK), or she was weakened from laying an egg (1964, 2003).
As for the humans in his movies, they're usually unable to stop him from running amok in Japan. But in spite of Godzilla's seemingly unbeatable nature, his record is far from flawless. He's lost fights before, and has even been outright killed. Here's every incident where Godzilla died, and exactly how it happened.
It was Godzilla's love life. Mothra is the moth-like monster star of the film, and according to Weibo, she's also Godzilla's wife.
Mothra possessed a symbiotic relationship with Godzilla, and aided him in battle against the extraterrestrial King Ghidorah long ago.
Unlike Godzilla or Rodan - who are believed to be the exact same specimens that lived millennia ago - Mothra's life is cyclical. She hatches, enters her cocoon, emerges, lays an egg, dies, and is reborn.
Mothra's Sacrifice
The same holds true in King of the Monsters, where Mothra ultimately sacrifices herself to give Godzilla her power.
When it comes to Mothra, the creature is at least 10,000 years old, and in all that time, has found reference in multiple human cultures as an object of worship.
In this series Mothra battled three opponents: Death Ghidorah, a flora-destroying horned beast with three heads; Dagahra, a toxic dragon-like sea creature; and finally Cretaceous King Ghidorah/Grand King Ghidorah, who comes back to Earth to feed of the life force of Japan's children.
Despite repeated "deaths", Mothra never really dies, and that's a big part of what makes her so special in Toho's movies and in the MonsterVerse. In the Godzilla movies, Mothra never really dies, and that's because the iconic character has a complicated life cycle that makes her unique to her fellow giant monsters.
