Last March, Apple halted the direct sale of iPhones and other products in Russia, aligning with the trend of Western brands withdrawing from the market due to sanctions related to the situation in Ukraine.
On March 2, 2022, Apple, among others, officially announced the suspension of sales in Russia. Since then, the official Apple Online Store has been unavailable in the country, all shipments of devices have been stopped, and Apple Pay has been blocked.

Apple does not have any physical stores in Russia and normally ships its phones, computers and tablets through its online stores, and also sells products through third-party retail stores there. The company had recently stopped Apple Pay service in Russia after the United States sanctioned Russian banks.
In fact, iPhones in Russia, are now at least 10-15 per cent cheaper than anywhere in the EU. It's worth noting that this price reduction doesn't solely apply to iPhones but extends to other Apple products as well. These products are officially categorized as “unavailable” for purchase or delivery in Russia by Apple.
Among the Apple-less countries are Syria, North Korea, Sudan and Cuba, which face trade sanctions from the United States. That means the “exportation, reexportation, sale or supply” of any Apple goods from the U.S. or an American anywhere is prohibited in those countries, according to Apple's global trade compliance.
In foreign countries, you normally don't have these subsidies and mobile service plans are cheaper instead. Still, that leaves us with a $350 price gap to explain. The biggest factor here is probably taxes. As Vernon Silver wrote in February, most European countries (and China) levy relatively high taxes on iPhones.
Apple Exited Russia, but Russians Can Still Buy the New iPhone 14.

In November, in a rare press release on its website, Apple warned that supply of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max would be heavily constrained due to lockdown restrictions impacting its main iPhone assembly plant in China. The problem wasn't restricted to India as almost every country was seeing a shortage of iPhone 14 Pro models. The Covid-19 lockdowns in China had impacted the supply and production of iPhone 14 Pro models severely.
Due to production issues at Apple supplier factories in China, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are backordered and basically out of stock at every store.
Apple doesn't operate any physical Apple stores in Russia.
Samsung has now shut down its physical shops across Russia. Apple didn't have any in-person shops in the country to begin with. Both companies have stopped selling products via their official online shops in Russia.
In Ukraine, official sales of new smartphones from Apple started quite quickly – iPhone 14 and 14 Pro/14 Pro Max, and the company's new smartwatches are also expected.
The 2021 revenue was the highest over the observed period. In 2020, the revenue from Russia was estimated at nearly one percent of the company's total revenue. The company was the second highest earning subsidiary of a foreign IT company in Russia in 2019.

Apple and Google both are allowed to operate in China.
After all, Apple pays big bucks to contract manufacturers in the country to assemble the iPhone. In fact, because Apple depends on firms like Foxconn and Pegatron to manufacture its smartphone, the handset is considered an export from China and could be subject to U.S. tariffs in the future.
Apple is the world's most valuable tech company, in large part because of China. Now Apple is reckoning with its dependence on China.
