Your last seen, online, status updates, and any changes made to your profile photo will no longer be visible to contacts you've blocked. Messages, calls, and status updates sent by the contact won't show up on your phone and won't be delivered to you.
Status Visibility
Status messages will be hidden in the same way the last seen is hidden from the person you may have blocked. The status will be visible only after the unblocking process happens.
Blocking someone on WhatsApp means you will no longer receive messages and calls from them. Someone you've blocked can't see your "last seen" timestamp or status and profile picture updates. There's no direct way for someone to know you've blocked them – WhatsApp doesn't notify them.
Blocking Someone on Android Messages and Apple iMessage
When you block a contact over Android or iPhone, they will still be able to send you text messages. These messages will not show up on your phone but the sender will see the messages as sent. They won't know that they've been blocked.
If an Android user has blocked you, Lavelle says, “your text messages will go through as usual; they just won't be delivered to the Android user.” It's the same as an iPhone, but without the “delivered” notification (or lack thereof) to clue you in.
When you've been blocked on WhatsApp, the person's current display picture will remain the same, even if they change it in the future. Therefore, if someone's profile photo never changes, you may have been blocked. Caveat: Sometimes, people remove their photo or do not update it.
Once you have been blocked, you will no longer be able to see the profile picture of the person.
If you unblock a contact, you won't receive any messages, calls, or status updates the contact sent you during the time they were blocked.
Make sure you have read receipts enabled.
If you aren't seeing views even though you know that people are viewing your status, you probably need to enable read receipts. The person viewing your status must also have read receipts enabled on their end in order for you to know if they have viewed your status as well.
To do this, open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Account > Privacy. You can toggle the 'Read Receipts' option to off. This method works for both Android and iOS devices. Now, when you view someone's status, they will not receive a notification that you have seen it.
Blocking a user prevents them from contacting you via Messages or Phone. When you unblock a number, these features will be accessible again. You can still ignore any received messages or calls, but you'll see every notification.
Using WhatsApp groups
If you do not want to delete your account or create a new one, then this is probably the only method left for you to unblock yourself on WhatsApp. Ask your friend to create a WhatsApp group between you, your friend, and the person who has blocked you.
You can request your friend to form a WhatsApp group in which you and the individual who blocked you have been added. The individual who has blocked you will get every message sent in the group.
The reason you can see their picture is because you're not blocked by them. As long as you're not blocked by them and their profile picture status is set to “everyone” instead of 'only my contacts' you can see their picture. As you've blocked them they cannot see your profile picture nor text or call you.
Profile Picture is no longer visible
If a gray background has replaced the user's profile picture, it can only mean two things – they have either deleted their profile picture or blocked you.
What does it mean if someone's picture disappears on WhatsApp? If you're blocked, you'll no longer be able to see their profile picture. However, this could simply mean that they've removed their image and don't currently have one too. It could also be the result of a connection problem.
Once your profile picture is hidden, all the people messaging you will just see a grey avatar as your DP. Unfortunately, there is no way to hide your profile picture from only a bunch of users.
For Android, go to Settings > Call Settings > Additional Settings > Caller ID. Then, select Hide Number. Your calls will remain anonymous and you can bypass the blocked list.
Once someone blocked your number, you will not receive any phone calls or text messages from them.
If someone has blocked you, you cannot text them.
After blocking someone on Android, you can retrieve their blocked texts. Some Android phones have a specific folder to save these blocked messages, or you can use Android Data Recovery tool to recover those texts if you deleted them accidentally.
No, Facebook doesn't notify users when they're blocked or unblocked.
If you've been blocked, the recipient will not receive a notification and won't be able to respond. If you don't receive a returned call or text message within a few days, there's a good chance you may be blocked.
