Thor's Stormbreaker is a much powerful weapon than Mjolnir, and it pierced the body of Mad Titan. He almost destroyed Thanos with his new weapon. Thanos has a much stronger build than Hulk, definitely stronger than gamma radiated muscles. Stormbreaker can just pierce Hulk's body like piece of cake.
The Asgardian weapon is nigh-indestructible, capable of summoning the Bifrost and is able to withstand energy blasts created by the Infinity Stones. Thor used Stormbreaker to defend his forces against the attacks from the Outriders, Chitauri, and Thanos.
In the comics when Odin Ford stormbreaker for beta Ray Bill it was forged using Odin's magic and even the stormbreaker from The avengers movie was forged by Asgardian magic. Can Stormbreaker hurt Superman? Yes, almost for sure. Since virtually all authors gave their reasons why it should cut Superman.
It is safe to say that Stormbreaker cannot be destroyed by anything audiences have seen in the MCU so far. A power that Stormbreaker lacks is the "worthiness" enchantment of Odin. Anyone physically strong enough to lift and use Stormbreaker can use it.
Can Stormbreaker hurt Superman? Yes, almost for sure. Can Thor fly without Stormbreaker? No.
Powers and characteristics
Stormbreaker has the additional power to summon the Bifröst, allowing Thor to teleport anywhere in the Nine Realms. Screen Rant has identified Stormbreaker as the more powerful of the two, based on this ability, as well as it being a much larger and edged weapon.
The axe is so powerful that it was even able to quickly slice through and overpower the beam from all six Infinity Stones unleashed by Thanos, although he was caught off-guard and could have repelled the attack by other means. It is also capable of healing severe wounds, as shown by it fully healing a sun-damaged Thor.
And Mathaudhu can cite documentary sources to back him up. For example, Marvel – which publishes the Thor comics – issued a “Thor's Hammer” trading card in 1991 that states Mjolnir is made of Uru and weighs precisely 42.3 pounds. That's lighter than a herd of 300 billion mice, much less a herd of 300 billion elephants.
Stormbreaker can summon the bifrost and Hela is stronger in Asgard. Thor can teleport her and himself and open her chest killing her, or cut off her limbs ir head.
Mjolnir, the Mystical Uru Warhammer
Mjolnir was forged for Thor Odinson's grandfather by the dwarves, who used the core of a star and Uru metal to form the iconic hammer and imbue it with its immense strength and magic. It is nearly invulnerable and is capable of great destruction.
Thanos was able to lift Stormbreaker because the axe doesn't have worthiness enchantment as Mjlolnir does. Mjolnir is specific when it comes to the wielder's might since the only prerequisite to wielding is that the wielder is “worthy” of its might.
However, the weapon wasn't ready until Groot completed it by dismembering himself - and, in doing so, he became the first person to lift Stormbreaker.
Strength wise we saw him battle Hulk evenly without Mjolnir or Stormbreaker, and even take the full force of a dying star without either weapons.
Valkyrie gets run through with the Necrosword, resulting in her losing a kidney, Thor loses Stormbreaker which will allow Gorr to reach Eternity, Jane learns that she will die if she uses Mjölnir again, and they are unable to rescue the children from Gorr.
This is why the hammer ends up being treated almost like a child of divorce at the beginning of Love and Thunder. It chose Jane because of Thor's request, and doesn't return to him when he asks it to. He gets frustrated with this, and this ultimately makes his relationship with Stormbreaker a bit rocky.
Absolutely yes. In fact, there are quite a few misconceptions about Thor's abilities.
Well, it's about even. Hercules' strength is rarely matched. There were times when he even overpowered the Incredible Hulk – a feat that not even Thor could complete. So, when it comes to physical strength, Hercules is the strongest.
After Odin went missing following the Second Dark Elf Conflict, a weakened Surtur intended to finally start Ragnarök, only to be defeated and killed by Thor. Despite this, Loki later resurrected him with the Eternal Flame and used him to defeat Hela.
Definitely not. There is something we have to consider here. Sure, Infinity War Thor almost killed Thanos with a completed Infinity Gauntlet by himself, but the only reason was because Thanos had no idea he was coming. He was completely caught off guard.
UNLIMITED STRENGTH
The answer; there isn't one. The amazing thing about the Hulk is that unlike nearly every other superhero ever created, the Hulk's strength has absolutely no upper limit. He can lift a commercial airplane – which weighs around 100 tons – when he is at his calmest; that's no problem for him.
He replied: "If Thor's hammer is made of neutron-star matter, implied by legend, then it weighs as much as a herd of 300-billion elephants." After some quick math, it turns out that 300 billion elephants is actually 4.5 quadrillion (4,500,000,000,000,000) pounds.
Forged by dwarves in the heart of a dying star, the weapon is enchanted so that it can only be lifted and wielded by those who are worthy of its powers. Both in the comics and the MCU films, many characters other than Thor himself, both heroes and villains, have been able to lift Mjolnir.
But when it comes to the weapon's replacement, Stormbreaker – which Thor forges in Avengers: Infinity War – Groot is able to lift it too. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo explained the mechanics of the hammer/axe thingamajig in a Twitter Q&A. "Mjolnir requires worthiness, not Stormbreaker," they said.
Godblast: This is Thor's most powerful attack, it fires a blast of concentrated godly essence/energy from Mjolnir that far exceed's Thor's normal capabilities. This blast has the power to kill immortal beings as well.
That is unless you're going up against Groot and his super durable bark, which is composed of a bioreactive material native only to his homeworld known as “sentient wood.” This dense wooden hide is tough enough to withstand most conventional weaponry (or annoying insect infestations) making him truly a Flora Colossus.
