I use a special cake pan that came in my air fryer accessory kit which works perfectly. You don't have to use that particular cake pan. Any cake pan that will fit inside the basket will work just fine. Prep the pan by adding shortening all around on the inside.
But before, sticking anything in it, a good tip to know is that you can use any ovenproof dish or container in an air fryer, whether it is made of glass, ceramic, metal or silicone. You are also perfectly fine using metal foil, which can help making cleaning easier.
The most versatile of all the containers was the 6-inch cake pan. It's small enough to fit in drawer-style air fryers, which we found performed best in our air fryer testing.
RECOMMENDED BAKEWARE
Dark baking or sheet pans are recommended for in-oven air fry. They absorb more heat and promote better browning and crisping. If you do use a baking basket or grid, make sure you put a broil-safe pan on the rack underneath it to catch any drippings.
You can use tin foil in an air fryer basket, you just need to make sure the foil doesn't cover all of the holes in the basket. Those holes are what allow the heat and air to push up from the heating element into the basket and then back down again as it cooks.
Is It Safe to Use Aluminum Foil in the Air Fryer? It is absolutely safe to use aluminum foil in your air fryer. In fact, it can make cooking with the air fryer easier.
You can use any ovenproof dish or mold in the Philips Airfryer, whether it is made of glass, ceramic, metal or silicone.
Pyrex is known for its strength and durability, making it suitable for high-temperature cooking methods like air frying.
Use the Right Cookware
Air frying works best with a dark, non-stick baking sheet with low sides. Air fry works best on dark pans because they get and stay hot very quickly. For quicker, crispier results, try the ReadyCook™ Air Fry tray.
The air fryer can be a great way to bake cake, but you need to know what you're doing. The air fryer's circulation of hot air means that cakes can sometimes end up overly brown on the outside and underbaked on the inside.
Yes, anything that is ovenproof can be used in the air fryer. It can be glass, ceramic, metal, or silicone. I have had great success with silicone molds, metal disposable cupcake molds, and great success with silicone molds.
The short answer is yes, you can put metal in an air fryer. Cookware made from metal is designed to withstand high heat from an oven, usually up to 500°F. Most air fryers heat up to temperatures between 200-400°F, so this should be no problem for metal cookware.
This is a small cake, so it will fit inside an 8 oz mug and most 8 oz mugs should fit inside your air fryer. Just make sure to choose a mug that is safe to heat up. The cake is then cooked for about 12-13 minutes at 350F. Some air fryers run hotter than others, so your cooking time may vary slightly.
Don't: Plastic
Unfortunately you cannot heat up your foods in plastic containers, such as Tupperware and plastic takeaway containers in the airfryer (like you can in a microwave). The general rule of thumb is what can go in an oven, can also go in the airfryer.
When it comes to using paper plates in air fryers, the short answer is no. Paper plates are designed for single use and cannot handle the heat produced by an air fryer. The intense heat can cause the paper to warp and even catch on fire, leaving you with a mess that not only ruins your meal but can also be dangerous!
The size of the air fryer basket will determine how many rashers you can cook at one time. Set the air fryer to 200C and cook streaky bacon rashers for 6-10 mins – just-cooked bacon will take 6 mins, but crispier bacon will take 9-10 mins. Cook back bacon rashers for 4-8 mins, depending on your preference.
Fiona says air-fried pies will work well, but because there is no bottom heating element, you may not get a crisp brown base. You'll also only have space to cook one or two at a time, but it will be faster than waiting for your oven to warm up. Air-frying a pie will be quicker than an oven.
Putting paper towels in an air fryer is not recommended as it can potentially cause a fire hazard. Additionally, the paper towel may not allow proper air circulation within the fryer, resulting in uneven cooking. Using the tray or basket with the air fryer is better for optimal cooking results.
Instructions. Add frozen chips to air fryer basket and cook at 200C (400F) for 8 - 20 minutes (see notes). Shake every 5 minutes and cook for longer if required. If the chips aren't crisping up enough spray a little oil on them.
There are four main types of oven-safe dishware: glass, metal, cast iron, and ceramic, though not all glass is necessarily oven-safe (as we learned with Pyrex recently). Since air fryers are again, essentially mini convection ovens, any oven-safe dish should be safe in an air fryer.
