Kali Prasad, also known as Eight, managed to escape the lab before September 8, 1979.
This seems to create something of a plot hole as the suggestion from the massacre was no one survived apart from Eleven. But as fans will remember, Eleven found her sister Kali after having a fight with Jim Hopper (David Harbour).
Everyone knows about Eleven and (more infamously) Eight, but there are eight other test subjects that were experimented on at Hawkins National Laboratory in Stranger Things – and here's everything that we know about them.
As viewers learned during Stranger Things 2, Eight, aka Kali Prasad, escaped from Hawkins Lab before the killings, later reuniting with Eleven on the outside. Though Eleven was playing with Eight the day her birth mother visited, Kali doesn't otherwise appear in Volume 1 of Season 4.
All in all, One killed 16 kids, given that Kali is still alive years later (assuming there were, in fact, only 18 test subjects, though there could've been more) and that Eleven defeated him.
In 1979, a mysterious incident occurs that kills every single child in Hawkins Lab, with the exception of Eleven. The staff members are killed, too, with only Brenner and Eleven surviving. This is why Eleven would later appear to be Brenner's only test subject.
In season 4, Peter Ballard notes that Kali was no longer at the lab in 1979. Given Kali's powers, it seems pretty self-explanatory as to how she was able to escape the lab. She either made herself invisible or was able to escape after manipulating the minds and visions of the guards.
Though only the Duffer Brothers and Netflix execs can tell for sure, it is likely that this poor reception is at least part of the reason why Eight hasn't been present for the events of the following seasons, save for the odd flashback.
Kali Prasad, also known as Eight, managed to escape the lab before September 8, 1979.
*1976: Kali Prasad, or "008," escapes the lab.
That was Kali, known in the lab as "Eight." Her powers were centered on creative illusions, a skill that likely came in handy when she made it out of the lab. She fled to Chicago and started life as an outcast who hunted down former HNL workers and killed them for revenge.
Ten, portrayed by Christian Ganiere, was a recurring character in the fourth season of Stranger Things. He was one of several test subjects experimented upon at Hawkins Lab by Dr. Martin Brenner and was among those who were killed by One on September 8, 1979.
1978. While Francine was on her way back to her room after an experiment, she saw Ricky in the hallway of the lab. After reacting with confusion, she pulled back his hand and saw the "003" tattoo stamped on his wrist.
Through blood testing, Brenner discovered that Terry became pregnant during the program. In 1971, she gave birth to a daughter named Jane, which Brenner and his staff abducted due to the child's dormant psychokinetic abilities, brought on upon her as a result of the experimentation on her mother.
The Duffer brothers stated that the only logical conclusion to Eddie's story was death. In a way, he was meant to be a tragic character. "There was never any other arc for him and there was no 'how do you survive this'?" said Ross Duffer. "At the very end, you see people still drawing devil horns on his head.
Eddie and 010 have a completely different eye colour... Eddie has brown eyes, 010 appears to have blue eyes. As it stands, the only two children (that we know of) to have survived Hawkins Lab and 001's massacre are Eleven and Eight (Kali).
Birth and early life. Henry Creel was born in 1947 to Victor and Virginia Creel, and had an older sister by three years named Alice. He did not fit in with his peers; his father described him as a "sensitive" boy.
Realizing he had tremendous psychic power, he haunted his family with visions before ultimately killing most of them. His father was framed for the murders and locked away in a mental hospital as a disturbed serial killer. Henry then found himself in the care of Brenner, who decided he wanted more kids like the boy.
Brown is likely right in saying that no one created the Upside Down and that the parallel dimension has always existed. And if the boys' science teacher was right in saying there are “infinite variations” of our world in alternate dimensions, there could even be several versions of the Upside Down out there.
According to Henry Creel, he was brought to Dr. Brenner when his mother caught on to his mysterious psychic powers.
Remember also that we have evidence that powers can be inherited -- El inherited her powers from Terri Ives, for example. So it stands to reason that Henry inherited his powers from one of his parents.
The existence of Eleven's lost sister Kali, also known as 008, created a few Stranger Things plot holes. Vecna's powers could be key to solving them. Largely considered a plot hole since Stranger Things season 2, Kali's character could actually be explained by Vecna's powers.
Though Vecna is now more powerful than Eleven, at the time she managed to escape through a psychic joust. Kali's escape was far more subtle, happening before the massacre could even take place. The series implies that Kali was able to escape by using her abilities.
Linnea Berthelsen (born 13 July 1993) is a Danish actress of Indian descent, who is best known for her recurring role as Kali, also known as Eight, the sister of Eleven in the second season of the science-fiction horror Netflix original series Stranger Things.
