Dumbledore and Grindelwald forged a deep connection that most fans weren't aware of until revelations, outlined by Esquire, came out from Harry Potter's author. The two met as teenagers and quickly became close, ultimately becoming lovers bent on leading a wizard revolution.
Author JK Rowling announced Albus Dumbledore was gay in 2007. It's known that he and Grindelwald were in a romantic relationship but it had never been explored in the previous Harry Potter films.
Dumbledore never trusted himself to love again after the way his friendship with Grindelwald ended.
After leaving Durmstrang, he fostered a romantic relationship with a young Albus Dumbledore, making plans to find the Deathly Hallows and lead a Wizarding revolution to end the International Statute of Secrecy, and create a new wizard-led order that would dominate Muggles.
Grindelwald pretended to love Dumbledore but did not actually feel the same way - basically, Grindelwald was a cunning sociopath who wasn't capable of real love but saw the relationship as a means for gaining power, so he played along and manipulated Dumbledore into loving him.
Albus Dumbledore is at the front and center of the Fantastic Beasts movies along with Gellert Grindelwald, with whom he had a romantic relationship.
The only one Grindelwald did seem to have genuine fear of appears to be Albus Dumbledore, as he quickly fled the scene after Ariana was killed trying to intervene in a duel he started, and later in life when he refrained from attacking England despite his possession of the Elder Wand out of fear of his former friend.
Over time, the pair form a genuine friendship, as Scorpius looks out for Albus in Slytherin house and Albus teaches Scorpius to lighten up a little. Throughout the course of the pair's friendship they began to develop romantic feelings for one another and date.

It's at least implied that Albus was in love with Gellert. We don't really know for sure if they dated or not, as it's never been stated explicitly. Recently (with the release of The Crimes of Grindewald), however, J.K. Rowling stated that Albus did have feelings for Gellert, but they were one-sided.
Johnny Depp was removed from the Fantastic Beasts franchise by Warner Bros after he lost his libel case against the UK tabloid The Sun, which had referred to him as a “wife-beater” amid his divorce from Amber Heard. A London court found the domestic violence allegations against Depp to be “substantially true”.
He wasn't decisively more powerful than Voldemort. Instead, what makes the focus on Grindelwald so exciting is that he was probably more dangerous than Voldemort -- a notion that has everything to do with his relationship with an unequivocal good guy: Albus Dumbledore.
Albus Dumbledore first met Gellert Grindelwald at a rather difficult time in his life, when he was seventeen years old. He had just finished his studies at Hogwarts, where he had excelled at everything, been Head Boy and won prize after prize – including the Barnabus Finkley Prize for Exceptional Spell-Casting.
Harry Potter will always be remembered as Dumbledore's favorite student. He was a shining example of the headmaster's wisdom and faith in the abilities of his students. He was also a reminder of the power of friendship and loyalty, and how these can help us achieve great things.
Albus confirms to Creedence early on in the film that he is in fact a Dumbledore, quashing any rumor that Grindelwald had lied to the young boy in order to sway him to his movement. It is explained that Credence is the illegitimate son of Albus's younger brother, Aberforth (Richard Coyle).
Much of the plot hinges on Harry's tumultuous relationship with his son, Albus — a relationship that culminates in Harry saying, “Sometimes I wish you weren't my son!” And I knew, in my heart of hearts, that Harry would never say that. He just wouldn't.
At one point in the play, Harry's son Albus uses Polyjuice Potion to disguise himself as Ron. When he encounters Hermione, this means he has to kiss her to keep up the charade. Nothing wrong with that.

Albus Dumbledore cared about Harry. He was forced to use him because it was the only way to thwart Voldemort's plans. And Dumbledore even admired Harry : we can see that during his last night but also at the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Albus Potter isn't a bad kid, but Hogwarts doesn't have what he needs. Still, he has to be Sorted, so he goes to Slytherin. Don't forget, Albus Potter doesn't wanted to be Sorted into Slytherin. He's scared enough that he worries over it and asks about it and requires reassurance on that front.
Albus trusted Delphini, but once he discovered her true intentions he, alongside his friend Scorpius, did all they could to help their parents stop her.
We see in the trailers the blood pact Newt retrieved from Paris is already having some magical hold on Dumbledore. Maybe keeping it so close to him all those years took a toll on Grindelwald's physical appearance. Giving him pale skin, white hair and making him blind in one eye.
Voldemort and Grindelwald both had a measure of cunning, but Grindelwald was much more intelligent, often seeing the long-term effects of his actions and hatching plans to achieve them. The Crimes of Grindelwald was solely focused on him finding a way to get through to Credence just so he could add him to his ranks.
Even decades after the duel with his old friend (or even lover, depending on who you ask), Gellert Grindelwald still valued their past relationship. Voldemort was a bit of a personal rival for him since he was Dumbledore's enemy, and Grindelwald didn't want to help him.
