In the 2015 film Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, it is revealed that Han had a son named Ben with Leia. The family breaks apart following Ben's descent into the dark side as Kylo Ren, with Leia and Han separating. Luke is not revealed to have any children.
Leia married Han Solo in 8 ABY and had three children: twins Jaina and Jacen in 9 ABY, and a younger son Anakin, who was named after his grandfather, in 10.5 ABY. In 19 ABY, Luke married Mara Jade. Their son, Ben, who was named after Luke's first mentor Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi, was born in 26.5 ABY.
Rey is Han Solo's daughter. But she is not Leia Organa's daughter--and therefore is not a Skywalker. Leia and Han were estranged when she began training with Luke.
Luke, meanwhile, married a woman named Mara Jade, an assassin who previously served Emperor Palpatine. The couple had one son, a Jedi named Ben Skywalker, whose descendants would go own to have Jedi adventures in their own times.
Many of the Expanded Universe stories take place after or in between the events of the movies, and follow the main characters as they grow and start families. Han Solo marries Princess Leia and they have three children: twins named Jacen and Jaina, and a younger son named Anakin.
In the third installment, the 1993 novel The Last Command, he is born five minutes after his sister Jaina on Coruscant. The twins, and eventually their younger brother Anakin, were sent to live at various safe havens, under the protection of Leia's handmaiden, Winter.
Upbringing. Zayne showed talent in the Force, as many expected, being Rey's son, but the boy was never trained by his mother. Instead, Rey kept her life as a Jedi Master and as a mother separate from her son, reasons being unknown to anyone for close to twenty years.
Darth Vader only learned he had a daughter in Return of the Jedi - but there's no evidence he realized she was Leia before his death and redemption.
So, even when she eventually learns his real name, Leia always associated the Jedi Master with Ben rather than Obi-Wan. Inspired by this, it makes sense that she decided to name her son Ben Solo — after Ben Kenobi.
Following the Wampa attack during the movie's opening scenes on Hoth; Leia, Han, and Chewie visit Luke in the infirmary. Leia is annoyed with Han, who insists she has feelings for him, so she kisses Luke to prove she doesn't. Presumably, the scene was simply meant to make Han jealous.
And in The Rise of Skywalker we finally learn that Rey is actually the granddaughter of Palpatine. Her parents—one of which is the child of Palpatine—abandoned her on Jakku to keep her safe from her grandfather who was aware of her power.
That's ok, but a little disappointing. Since The Last Jedi outright says Rey's parent were not important (from a certain point of view), and Luke shows no indication that he knows who Rey is, or even cares, it'd be really hard to justify that original idea.
It's well known that Star Wars lead characters Luke Skywalker and Princess (now General) Leia are brother and sister. The estranged siblings didn't know about their familial relationship until "Return of the Jedi." They even shared a passionate kiss in the previous movie, "The Empire Strikes Back."
Attended by medical droids, Padmé Amidala gave birth to her twins Luke and Leia on Polis Massa. She died and the twins were split up, with Obi-Wan taking Luke to Tatooine and Bail Organa returning home to Alderaan with Leia.
Following Palpatine's final defeat and her own resurrection, Rey adopts the name Rey Skywalker to honor her mentors and their family legacy and renounce her lineage. As the last remaining Jedi, she makes it her mission to rebuild the Jedi Order.
Padmé Amidala (portrayed by Natalie Portman) is the wife of Anakin Skywalker, the mother of Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa, the daughter-in-law of Shmi Skywalker, the mother-in-law of Han Solo, and the maternal grandmother of Ben Solo. She served as Queen of Naboo, and later as a Senator for her planet.
For all we know, Leia specifically channeled her own life force into Ben, helping Rey along and sacrificing herself in the process. That may be why Leia finally dies and fades away at the moment Ben revives Rey and fades away himself. When Ben dies, any tether Leia still had to the living world went with him.
The question of why Leia's body only disappears after Ben Solo's death has a few potential answers, but it boils down to Leia's own journey as a Jedi. Her character can be considered one of the most important of the sequel trilogy. Her arc has always been inherently tied with that of her son.
Throughout her encounters with Kenobi in the series, he refers to himself as Ben. The most straightforward explanation would be that Leia knows the person who rescued her is Ben, and never connected the dots that Ben is actually Obi-Wan.
The short answer is that creator George Lucas had no idea Leia would end up becoming Darth Vader's daughter. Star Wars books and comics have tried to address the decades-old plot hole.
But then we learned Padmé passed away moments after giving birth to the twins. Therefore, how could Leia have had any memories of her birth mother? But when little Leia realized Obi-Wan had known her birth mother, he shared a story that not only made Leia's memories of Padmé plausible, it made them all the more moving.
Alderaan's princess knew she had been adopted by Bail and Breha Organa after the Clone Wars, but she had no idea who her parents were. That was until Luke Skywalker told her the truth - that he was the son of Darth Vader, and that she was his sister.
The clues led to a single, amazing conclusion. Rey Skywalker is pregnant and pregnant with twins.
At the end of The Rise of Skywalker, the title of the movie becomes apparent. While the Skywalker bloodline is technically gone, Rey honors her fallen mentors, Luke and Leia, by adopting their family name.
After burying them, an old woman (played by Annie Firbank) approached her. It's this interaction that has prompted numerous theories as to her identity.
