Disability Support Pension recipients will receive a boost to their social security payments when indexation of their payments occurs on 20 March 2023. They can expect an increase of $37.50 a fortnight for singles and $56.40 a fortnight for couples combined.
The government will provide $3.7 million in 2023–24 to extend the measure to provide age and veteran pensioners a once-off credit of $4,000 to their Work Bonus income bank and temporarily increase the maximum income bank until 31 December 2023.
From 1 December 2022 to 31 December 2023, the maximum Work Bonus balance limit increases from $7,800 to $11,800. This will reset to $7,800 on 1 January 2024. You'll also get a one-off increase of $4,000 to your Work Bonus balance during this period.
You can ask to have the amount paid all at once or in 2 instalments. The lowest and highest amounts change along with pension amounts each March and September.
The first full payment at the new rates of pension will be payday 6 April 2023. The maximum rate of single service pension will rise by $37.50 to $1,064.00 per fortnight and the maximum rate for couples will increase by $28.20 to $802.00 per fortnight (each).
The National Disability Conference Initiative provides funding of up to $10,000 to conference organisers to help people with disability participate in nationally-focused, disability-related, conferences held in Australia.
The $250 cost-of-living payment
The payment will be given to eligible recipients of the following schemes, and to concession card holders: Age Pension. Disability Support Pension. Parenting Payment.
Introduction. If you're a pensioner currently receiving support through Centrelink, you may be eligible for extra help with bills and medicine costs through the Pension Supplement. This supplement is a combined payment of Pharmaceutical Allowance, Utilities Allowance, GST Supplement and Telephone Allowance.
You'll get the Carer Supplement each year for as long as you remain eligible. We'll assess your eligibility for Child Disability Assistance Payment separately. The supplement is up to $600 each year for each eligible payment. You'll get this amount on top of your regular payment.
However, on 2 September 2022 the Prime Minister announced that Age Pensioners will be able to earn an additional $4,000 in the 2022–23 financial year before it affects their pension.

The Carer Supplement is an annual payment of $600 which is attached to each Carer Allowance. The Supplement is paid in July each year.

From 10 July 2023, there are changes to Child Care Subsidy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. The changes mean they can get at least 36 hours of subsidy per fortnight, regardless of their family's income or activity level.

The Government has provided two separate $750 payments to social security, veteran and other income support recipients and eligible concession card holders. Around half of those that benefit are pensioners. These payments will support households to manage the economic impact of the Coronavirus.
The supplement is granted to recipients of the Age Pension, JobSeeker Payment, Carer Payment and the Disability Support Pension (unless you're aged 20 or younger with no dependent children).
The Cost of Living Payment is a $250 one-off payment to help with the cost of living. The Cost of Living Payment is not taxable, and you don't need to report it as income. You'll get it if you were residing in Australia on 29 March 2022, and: you were able to claim, or were getting an eligible payment.
Households will need to visit the comparison tool provided by Service NSW and will be eligible for the payment even if they don't switch plans. The program is set to run from July 1 to December 31, 2023. Aussies who compare providers now will still be eligible for the payment in July.
The Australian Government will invest $1.5 billion to assist around 6 million Australians with higher cost of living pressures. A one-off $250 Cost of Living Payment will be paid to eligible recipients from the end of April 2022.
The Work Bonus income bank is useful for pensioners who wish to work, particularly those who undertake intermittent or occasional work. Note: from 1 December 2022 to 31 December 2023, a one-off, temporary credit of $4,000 applies to Work Bonus income bank balances.
Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) – The maximum payment is $3,627 a month. The maximum family benefit for SSDI is about 150% to 180% of the disabled worker's benefit. The maximum payment at full retirement age is $3,627 monthly. However, if you retire at age 62, your benefit is $2,572.
