To set up a donation page on GoFundMe, organizers will need a phone number, an email address, and a compelling fundraiser story and/or photos that explain why they are fundraising. The organizer will also need a bank account to receive donated amounts.
The person receiving funds must have a bank account in the currency the fundraiser was set up in, and meet all of the requirements listed below for their country. If you don't meet the requirements for any of our supported countries, please do not create a fundraiser.
GoFundMe gets your funds to you quickly because we know that many fundraising needs are time-sensitive. You can set up withdrawals and add your bank account as soon as you accept the campaign organizer's invitation to make you a beneficiary. Bank transfers then take 2-5 business days to arrive.
Making a withdrawal does not affect your GoFundMe campaign at all. Your GoFundMe campaign's 'Total Amount Raised' meter will stay the same and you can continue accepting donations for as long as you'd like. Your first withdrawal will always be for your full available balance.
We know that it might be tricky to decide what your goal amount should be for your fundraiser, but the good news is that you can change it at any time. Also, there isn't a requirement to reach your goal, and you'll still be able to withdraw all funds raised.
How long will it take to be fully verified? The process of setting up and verifying transfers can take 3-7 business days or longer to complete. Then, once your first transfer is sent, it will take on average 2-5 business days for the funds to safely be deposited into the bank account on file.
How much does GoFundMe charge for the transaction fee? GoFundMe charges one transaction fee—that's it. So, what percentage does GoFundMe take for transaction fees? A transaction fee of 2.9% +$0.30 is automatically deducted from each donation, so you never have to worry about paying a bill.
Who are you fundraising for? If you'll be managing transfers yourself, whether to a personal or company account, select "Yourself". If you'll need to add a beneficiary, select "Someone else". And if you are raising funds for a charity and would like the funds to be sent directly to that charity, select “Charity”.
You will enter your name in two places on GoFundMe: When you set up your GoFundMe account: This name will show publicly and can be a nickname or shortened name. When you set up your bank transfers: This name will remain private. It must be your legal name, and match your ID and bank statement.
If you're looking to create an anonymous fundraiser or hide your name, then we highly recommend that you reach out to a close friend or family member who can create the fundraiser on your behalf.

GoFundMe takes the security of your information seriously. You can learn more about our security practices here and read our Privacy Notice here. Additionally, the GoFundMe Giving Guarantee helps protect donors in the rare case that something isn't right.
Donations made via GoFundMe are sent directly to PayPal Giving Fund and not the fundraiser. PayPal Giving Fund then grants the donation to the donor's recommended charity. There is a platform and processing fee and donors have the option to tip GoFundMe to cover the cost of their support services.
PayPal Giving Fund is the receiving charity for donations made through GoFundMe and CrowdRise by GoFund Me. Charities benefiting from these campaigns should enroll with PayPal Giving Fund to receive the donations quickly and securely.
All funds raised on a charity fundraiser will be processed through our payment partner, PayPal Giving Fund, who will deliver the funds directly to the charity.
There are a few reasons why your bank transfer can be rejected: The bank account you're transferring from may not have enough funds in it to make the transfer.
