Alex walks in on a drunken Jo pulling DeLuca down on her bed, but Alex misinterprets it as DeLuca sexually assaulting her, so beats him near to death.
Grey's Anatomy even has some fun with the similarities, like when Link (Chris Carmack) realizes he slept with new intern Jules (Adelaide Kane) when she shows up for her first day at Grey Sloan.
Link and Jo Finally Get Together
This was one of the more frustrating relationships in the series as the timing was never right for these two.
Atticus Lincoln, preferably called Link, is the Head of Orthopedic Surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. He was in a relationship with neurosurgeon Amelia Shepherd, with whom he has a son named Scout.
Wilson-Karev was conceived during a rape. Jo informs her mom she was in an abusive marriage, which viewers are already painfully aware of. Then, Jo drops what may be the final major secret of her past: She had an abortion. It's a clear-eyed revelation that clarifies Jo's past, present, and future.
Luna Wilson is the daughter of Jo Wilson, who was born to her late patient Val Ashton.
In season 16, it's revealed that Alex left Jo to get back together with Izzie after Izzie used the embryos she froze when they were together to birth two of her and Alex's children. When Alex learns that Izzie is living in Kansas with their kids, he moves there to be with his family, leaving Jo in the process.

While Grey's Anatomy's season 17 finale ended with a hopeful note for the future, there was no happy ending for Link as Amelia turned down his long-planned proposal. But why did she reject Link despite them having a child together and seemingly being happily in love?
While at the altar, Jo decided to freak out her new husband by saying “for richer or for pregnant” during her vows. “Scared you! I got you so bad,” she said after, revealing it was all a joke.
As revealed at the close of season 12, Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) could not marry Alex (Justin Chambers) because she was already wed to an abusive man, whom she ran away from, changing her name in the process.
