Whether you think it's good or bad to be glued to a handheld device for hours on end, we're all guilty of it at some stage – including the royals! From the Duke of Sussex to the Countess of Wessex, let's take a look at some of the royals who are just as addicted to their phones as us.
She texts her grand-kids
What with her own various social media feeds and her very own website, this is one modern woman. According to Sally Bedel Smith, the Queen has her own mobile phone which she uses to text her grandchildren.
An unwritten rule saying royals must act professionally could be why they rarely engage in PDA. During rare occasions, the pair's been seen holding hands or touching each other's backs.
While the Duchess has previously been spotted with an iPhone mobile - when she read out questions submitted for her Early Years Q&A in an Instagram video shared in November - both her and William, 38, tend to use the old fashioned landline when it comes to conducting engagements.

However, the royals still have a London base at Apartment 1A inside of Kensington Palace, and did you know they have a rather unusual sleeping set up? Members of the British royal family usually aren't seen using cell phones — also called mobile phones in the UK — in public. It's considered against protocol for royals to take selfies with fans at events, according to one person who attended the Queen's garden party in 2017.
"The likely reasoning is more that while traveling on a tour such as the India trip, technically the couple are working representatives of British Monarchy," she continues. "The couple are likely to show very little PDA, if any, to remain professional during their designated roles abroad."
While there's no bona fide restriction on PDA, royal family members tend to refrain while on official business for Her Majesty. Plus, our favorite royal pair is not the first to follow this unspoken rule. Queen Elizabeth II rarely holds hands with her husband Prince Philip in public, either, and for the same reason.

That said, Meghan apparently dresses herself, though she'll likely have an assistant who can call clothes in for her.
"You never see a royal without their nude stockings," Arbiter previously told Insider. "I would say that's really the only hard, steadfast rule in terms of what the Queen requires." Meier added that British royals typically follow that guideline while "performing their royal duties in their professional roles."
Kate Middleton has been a style influencer since well before she married Prince William, but her effortless, understated beauty look is equally coveted by fans—and made all the more lovable by the fact that Middleton often does her own makeup, even on her wedding day.
The real reason so far no one knows, but sources close to William and the royal family point out that there may be two reasons for this. The first is that the Omega he wears for sentimental reasons, and the other is that the second royal is a watch that marks and tracks physical activity.
