Most of your allowances are included in your pay each fortnight. Allowances are available to members performing a particular role or in specific circumstances.

During basic military training: $49,302 p.a. Recruit during initial employment training: $54,242 - $59,546 p.a. Officer Training (non-degree qualified) : $41,732 - $47,296 p.a. Officer Training (degree qualified): $47,296.
On completion of initial military training and initial employment training you could earn a salary worth at least: $93,476 p.a.
How much does Australian Army Reserve in Australia pay? The average Australian Army Reserve daily wage ranges from approximately $177 per day for Warehouse Coordinator to $762 per day for Public Health Nurse.
Basic pay rates are calculated monthly, rather than weekly or bimonthly, and are subject to taxes like civilian pay. And — just like salaried civilians in the private sector — you're not eligible for overtime pay. Your monthly pay is automatically split in half and distributed twice a month.
Is Army Reserve pay tax-free? Pay and allowances for the Reserves are exempt from income tax if members only participate in part-time service or training. If you're in the Reserves and perform full-time continuous service (even as a volunteer), you will need to pay tax on your salary and allowances.

E-1: $1,785 per month
This is the lowest enlisted rank and includes airman basic (Air Force), private (Army and Marine Corps), seaman recruit (Coast Guard and Navy), fireman recruit, airman recruit or hospitalman recruit (Navy) and specialist 1 (Space Force).
If you enroll in boot camp, expect to be on duty seven days a week, though you might get several hours of personal time on Sunday since it's a day with lighter responsibilities.

In specific circumstances, you can apply to leave the Permanent Forces without performing Reserve service. Many of the benefits you're eligible for are the same as if you transfer to the Reserves. If you're discharged from the Permanent Forces for disciplinary reasons, you won't get any benefits.

You can't just quit the Army once you are on active duty. You are contractually obligated to remain in service for the period to which you committed. But soldiers are discharged from duty early due to physical or psychological inability to perform duties, for drug abuse, misconduct, and other infractions.

You may get a Defence paid move to a suitable home when you begin a relationship or marriage. If you're staying in living-in accommodation or Member Choice Accommodation, Defence will pay to move you to a suitable home. They may also pay to move some of your partner's personal belongings.
You can join the ADF at 17, but start your application earlier if you wish. There are no gender restrictions in the Navy, Army or Air Force.
Reservists have the opportunity to be a part of an Operational Deployment either overseas or within Australia's offshore.
The maximum age to join the Army as an enlisted Soldier is 35, while Officers must accept their commission before age 31. However, the Army can lift some restrictions based on the need for certain roles to be filled. It's possible to receive an age waiver if you retire with 20 years of military service by age 55.
