Hummus is a vegan staple that allows you to have some versatility in your diet. It's an immensely popular food amongst vegans so you may have found a new favourite yourself.
Traditional hummus generally contains all vegan ingredients and does not include any animal products; however, different flavor combinations may introduce dairy or other non-vegan ingredients.
The basic ingredients are garbanzo beans (chickpeas), extra virgin olive oil, and tahini – along with varying amounts of lemon juice, garlic, cumin, and sea salt. Obviously different flavors will contain other ingredients, but unless they are somehow meat or animal products, then the hummus remains vegan!

Is halloumi cheese vegan? Now, to the question at hand: is halloumi cheese vegan? The straightforward answer is no. Halloumi cheese is typically made from goat or sheep milk, and can sometimes be made with cow's milk.
Being a dairy product those allergic or intolerant of milk should avoid halloumi; it is also not suitable for vegans, Nutritionally, there isn't a great deal of difference between different types of halloumi.
