The Army's standard is a two-bedroom apartment, designed for two Soldiers. Each soldier gets a private bedroom, and they share a kitchen, bathroom, and living room.
Living in the Military Barracks
As you increase in rank, you may get a private room and bath, or even live in a shared apartment, with a kitchen and living area. Barracks rooms are available for single service members through a specific rank – and sometimes above that rank, as room allows.
It depends on the circumstances and where you are. In garrison, most of the barracks have been rebuilt. It's now common for soldiers to either have their own room or share it with a roommate, much like college dorms. Bathrooms are usually common areas to some degree.
During Basic Training, men and women live in separate quarters known as barracks, which consist of shared bunks and bathroom facilities.
In the U.S., nearly all barracks are coed, though individual bedrooms are still segregated. Once you are deployed, however, men and women often share the same quarters, especially if the base is in a remote location like Afghanistan.
Can girlfriends stay on an army base? No they cannot. Only family (spouse and children, not parents, siblings) can stay on the base if the military member has authorization for it and housing is available.
Girls are allowed to visit men in the barracks, but you cannot spend the night. You must sign in with the duty at the front desk. The door to the barracks room is supposed to be propped open during the visit.
While visitors cannot stay the night in the barracks, there are accommodations on base, if you choose, for visiting family members and friends, and your service member can stay the night with you.
The short answer is YES! Most people can visit a military base with no issue. However, it's not like visiting grandma where you can just pull up and walk in. You must bring all required documents and be willing to submit to a background check.
Incense, candles, sparklers, and burning substances of any kind are prohibited. NO SMOKING in any Government facility. Smoking areas are located outside of the Barracks. Smoking is NOT PERMITTED within any duty rooms at any time.
Do not expect or offer public displays of affection whenever a service member is in uniform. However, brief kisses and hugs are acceptable during deployments and homecomings. Eating, drinking, using a cellphone and smoking while walking is generally banned in uniform.
These requirements may also impact the scheduling of annual leave. Annual Leave: Active duty Soldiers earn 2.5 days of annual (chargeable) leave for each month of service, for a total of 30 days per year. Currently, Soldiers can bank up to 60 days of leave at the end of the fiscal year.
The Military's Stance on Sleep. The Office of the Army Surgeon General recommends that soldiers sleep at least seven hours per night, although only a minimum of four hours is required during field training exercises.
For starters, an unmarried couple cannot live on a base outside of certain extenuating circumstances that would have the non-service member defined as a caregiver for the service member's children. As a result, unmarried military couples typically live off-base.
There's no way out of communal showers. They're required. Everyone in your barracks will enter the shower room assigned to your barracks when commanded. The shower area is one large tiled room with multiple shower heads along the walls.
Although the military offers complimentary housing for all personnel within the confines of the base, some individuals may prefer to live within the larger community, particularly if they are married or have a family. For these individuals, the military offers what is known as a basic housing allowance.
Mobile phones are allowed in basic training, but can only be used at authorized times. In fact, according to Air Force policy, you are encouraged to bring your cell phone and charger with you.

So what happens if you get pregnant in the military? You're issued a special uniform, you get up to 12 weeks of maternity leave depending on your branch, and your secondary caregiver (often a partner) will receive time off, too.

if you are married or get married you will not live in the barracks no matter what rank. You can move out of the barracks as a single SSG or when you get married at any rank. You can move out of the barracks at any rank; however, you must be legally married.
Note: A sponsorship form has to be filled out to request a pass for EACH visitor. If you are heading to base in your sponsor's vehicle, you will just need a valid ID photo and your driver's license. However, keep in mind that some bases only allow their service members to sponsor one guest in their vehicle at a time.
Deployed it's usually the 3 minute rule. You can use water for up to 3 minutes. You can stay in there longer but it's 1.5 minutes to rinse, turn off the water then 1.5 minutes to rinse again (or any variation to get 3 minutes of water and get clean).
