It's the same decayed body Nancy saw when Vecna lured her into his psychic trance in season four. Cries for Barb's return have echoed through the Stranger Things fandom for years, but unless a new Upside Down entity has the ability to conjure the dead, it's unlikely we'll ever see her again.
Purser also said that she didn't know that Barb would die at first. She explained, "there was this secrecy about Episode 7, which is the episode where [Chief Hopper] finds Barb's body. None of the cast really knew — they hadn't received the scripts, and they didn't really know what was going to happen."
Barb's death implied that whatever the slug does didn't take, so the Mind Flayer reached out to Will instead. It could be that the Mind Flayer needed a younger host, or Barb may have simply died while the Demogorgon was attempting to infect her.
Did the series bring back the actress? Unfortunately, no, and what a miss that is! I would have loved to see Purser reprise her role in a memory, just like Montgomery. Instead, we got CGI and we can barely make out that it's Barb.
The teenager was dragged into the Upside Down and quickly killed by the creature. Nancy later spent time searching for her friend until the truth about her death was unearthed. Seeing as Barb served as a symbol of innocence, viewers were upset about her sudden death.
Barb was the best friend of Nancy Wheeler. In late 1983, Barb mysteriously vanishes, which leads Nancy and Jonathan Byers to investigate her disappearance. Eventually, it was revealed that she had been killed by the Demogorgon.
It's only when Eleven psychically traveled to the Upside Down via a sensory deprivation tank that she saw Barb's decayed body and knew she was dead. It's the same decayed body Nancy saw when Vecna lured her into his psychic trance in season four.
Obviously, Nancy was trying to play it safe. She even cut off the muzzle of her shotgun so she could have the best odds. Still, maybe if she had aimed a little better, Hawkins wouldn't be in ruins, and even worse, maybe Max and Eddie would be alive and well.
One of the theories could be that Will has some supernatural powers that caused the monster to be lured to him even though he wasn't injured. That could also be the reason he could communicate with his mother using the lights.
Suzie Bingham, portrayed by Gabriella Pizzolo, is a minor character in the third season and a recurring character in the fourth season of Stranger Things.
The theory predicts that Vecna wants to regain his human form, and he will use Will to do so in Season 5. Knowing that Vecna singled out Will in Season 1, it's a reasonable theory, but it might go too far. After all, Vecna already has a human form, and he has vowed to eliminate humanity.
With Vecna taking centre-stage in the fourth season of Stranger Things, eagle-eyed fans have been spotting clues that he's actually been around since season one.
Joyce and Chief Hopper found an unconscious Will Byers strung up in the Upside Down version of the public library; he had a tendril in his mouth, extending through his trachea, and into his lungs. Hopper pulled it out of his throat before shooting and destroying it.
In episode 7, Vecna is revealed to be Henry Creel (played as a youngster by Raphael Luce), the son of Victor Creel (Robert Englund) and his wife Virginia (Tyner Rushing) shown in the 1950s flashbacks.
Nancy sees an image of Barb's dead body in her vision of the Upside Down.
- robin tries running away (like el in s2, max in her novel, and jonathan also wrongfully assumed Will ranaway in s1 too). -bob newby describes the byers family as his "home" . Similar to how El describes the Hawkins gang as "home". - robin says she was friends with barb before nancy.
The Duffer Brothers had Vecna planned from the start, which is how they were able to tie his character into earlier seasons. Stranger Things revealed Vecna was also behind the Mind Flayer that appeared in season 2.
In a fit of rage, Henry used his restored powers to brutally murder the other test subjects and workers, and attempted to do the same to Eleven. However, Eleven stood her ground and ultimately overpowered him, sending him through a gate to the Upside Down; there, he gradually transformed into the being known as Vecna.
At first, Nancy wanted to change her clothes in private, but decided to have sex with Steve where she undressed in front of him. As Nancy lost her virginity to Steve, she was unaware that Barb, who was sitting alone outside by the pool, was abducted by an otherworldly monster.
However, when Barbara goes missing, Nancy jumps back into the investigation, also feeling guilty because Barbara disappeared while Nancy was with Steve. She aligns herself with Jonathan and they discover Barbara has been taken to an alternate dimension called The Upside-Down by a creature called The Demogorgon.
While season 1 saw Nancy falling for shy guy Jonathan despite dating Steve, season 2 revealed that the budding journalist was still holding back her feelings for the eldest Byers son by digging deeper into her relationship with Hawkins' most popular jock.
He dies in Dustin's arms in the Upside Down, and his body is never recovered. Days later, Dustin tells Eddie's uncle that he died a hero, fighting for the town despite the fact that everyone in it wrongly hated him.
Nancy Cared About Steve More
Nancy chose to remain with Steve rather than accompanying Barb home, despite her friend having hurt herself. It could be argued that Nancy cared about her boyfriend more, as she disregarded the feelings of her friend.
Vecna was the one who originally kidnapped Will in season 1.
