Brianna and Roger sleep together for the first time following their reunion and romantic handfasting (a form of marriage) ceremony. But soon, Brianna learns not only that Roger found
Roger is the father of Bree's baby in Outlander
After cutting Jemmy's hair to get rid of the lice, Bree saw a mole. She worried at first, but Roger was able to calm the fears. There was nothing sinister about that mole.
Roger doesn't cheat on Brianna or anything (heaven forbid!). But as he tries to find his place in the past, he spends a little too much time with the recently-widowed Amy of the Fisher-folk. Her husband died on the Ridge shortly after moving from Scotland, leaving her with two young children.
In the book, Roger leaves alone. However, in the series, the writers have decided to keep Bree and Roger together. This is potentially to join together some other storylines as Roger's journey to becoming a minister happens much earlier in the books, timed with Flora MacDonald's barbecue.
Frank took her back in and Brianna was born on November 23, 1948 in Boston, Massachusetts. This means there is an approximately eight-year age difference between the characters. This is evidenced when Brianna first meets Roger after she has just graduated from high school and he is an Oxford University professor.
“He's about 25,” Gabaldon said. It's an interesting response. If you're up to date on the series, then you know that Jamie is not dead at the age of 25.
1701-1800. Jamie and Claire have been separated for 20 years. He is hiding near Lallybroch after surviving the Battle of Culloden. Jamie is blackmailed into sleeping with Ellesmere's young fiancée Geneva and impregnates her.
Without Jamie being at the birth, there wasn't the chance for the two to gain a deeper connection. But actually, Brianna not telling Jamie she forgives him and saving it for Outlander Season 5 was a good thing. There was already so much to put into the finale.
She previously told one fan, who hoped for Jamie to time travel in the 10th and final novel: “Sorry, not happening.” Nonetheless, Jamie does have some powers after he was able to project himself into the future and appeared in Inverness with Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies) spotting him.
After Roger travels back to 18th-century Scotland with Claire and Brianna, her daughter with Jamie, he marries Brianna. They have a son, Jeremiah "Jemmy" Fraser MacKenzie, and a daughter, Amanda MacKenzie.
"I think that Jamie found the respect for Roger. There was a lot of misunderstanding between the two of them from the off, but he's seen him in the light of what he is and has a respect and admiration for Roger, which will presumably continue from here on in."
The Circumstances Surrounding The Meeting
Although the end result in both is that Jamie and Brianna get to meet each other in 1769 in North Carolina, there were little divergences from the novel that the show took to get there. First off, Brianna finds Jamie in Cross Creek — not Wilmington — in the book.
No, Jamie never cheats on Claire in Outlander. In fact, Jamie was very devoted to his relationship with Claire throughout the entire series.
Rob Cameron, one of Brianna's coworkers, kidnaps Jem, and it appears that he has taken Jem into the past. Roger and William travel through time to find them, but Rob appears at Brianna's home and orders her to tell Jem to disclose the location of the gold.
In November 1774, Jemmy has lice and Jamie shaves the boy's head, revealing an unusual birthmark on his scalp that Claire says would be genetic. Roger shaves his head as well to show that he has a matching birthmark, confirming Jem's parentage.
It's all pretty bizarre, but Brianna sensibly plays along to save herself, and even convinces Bonnet to let her go home and get Jemmy. Well, at least until Bonnet wants to seal their agreement with a kiss, at which point he realizes Brianna has no real feelings for him.
Because yes, Claire and Lord John end up married in book seven, and yes, they drunkenly (and full of grief for the loss of Jamie, whom they both love with all of their heart) consummate that marriage. And then Jamie shows up alive and well!
Claire asks Lord John if he believes she (and Brianna and Roger) are from the future, to which he says that he doesn't, but that he will behave for all appearances as though he does.
While on a second honeymoon in Scotland with her husband, Frank Randall, Claire inadvertently travels two hundred years into the past, where she meets and eventually marries Jamie Fraser.
Gemma Fray took on the role of Brianna between the ages of eight and 10, before actress Sophie Skelton took over the part as a teenager and young adult. The reason Skelton took over the role in the first place is simply Brianna grows up over the course of Outlander and an adult actor was needed to play the part.
Claire made a difficult decision during Voyager/Outlander Season 3. She left Brianna in the 20th century to find Jamie in the 18th century.
Roger (Richard Rankin) had to watch as Bonnet threw women and children overboard to drown on their journey to the New World. And he raped Brianna. “Brianna's case is arguably the strongest,” Gabaldon continues.
During An Echo in the Bone/Written in My Own Heart's Blood, Claire marries for the third time. This time it's to Lord John Grey.
As mentioned previously, Jamie has been in love with Claire since their arrival at Leoch. With that in mind, the wedding kiss becomes part confession and part call and response. Jamie kisses Claire in the way that he has wanted to since they first met.
The answer is simply no. Claire and Jamie did not have any children after Brianna. Claire, who was pregnant with Brianna at the end of the second part/book, traveled through the stones and spent 20 years in the 20th century with Frank, but they did not have any children together.
