Elvis Presley's iconic Graceland mansion will stay in the family after the death of his only child, Lisa Marie Presley. The 54-year-old singer died last week after suffering a cardiac arrest. Presley's three daughters, Riley, Harper and Finley, will inherit the Tennessee estate, according to a representative.
The iconic Memphis home of Elvis Presley, which had been willed to his daughter Lisa Marie Presley — who died Jan. 12 at the age of 54 — will now go to Presley's three surviving children: elder daughter Riley Keough, 33, and twins Harper and Finley Lockwood, 14. Lisa Marie Presley's son, Benjamin Keough, died in 2020.
“Elvis lived in many places, but Graceland was always his home, and Lisa felt the same way,” he said. “At times of difficulty, she slept in his bedroom. Twenty-five million people have visited Graceland, but it was always only home to one person, and that was Lisa.”
After the death of Elvis Presley's daughter Lisa Marie on January 12, 2023, it was reported that her three daughters, Riley, Harper and Finley will inherit the Tennesse estate. The 54-year-old tragically suffered a cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas, California.
According to Forbes, Elvis Presley's estate makes him one of the wealthiest dead celebrities today. The publication estimates that the Presley estate earned $23 million in 2020 alone. A majority of this money comes in through Graceland, which earns around $10 million annually during a typical year.
At just nine years old, Priscilla Presley became one of three heirs to her father's estate when Elvis Presley passed away in 1977. Three years later, after the passing of her grandfather, Vernon, and great-grandmother, Minnie, she became the sole heir.
The Upstairs Remains Off Limits
It was there, in his bathroom, that Presley's body was found on Aug. 16, 1977. After the home was opened to the public in 1982, the second floor was sealed shut out of respect to the family — and also to avoid any macabre attention at the scene of his death.
Family members continued to live at Graceland after Elvis' death, including Vernon Presley, who died in 1979, and Minnie Mae Presley, who died in 1980.
But the upstairs rooms at Graceland remain private. What many visitors don't know is that after visiting hours are over, the Presley abode is still a home. "It shuts down quite nice at night," explains Lisa Marie, who visits her hometown often. "I have family that I love very much who live there in Memphis," she says.
After Elvis died in 1977 at Graceland, Priscilla helped establish Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE), which launched Graceland into a top international tourist destination.
According to ABC News, the petition states that Keough—as the owner of Graceland—will “to the extent of her authority” allow Priscilla a burial and memorial service on the grounds. Her grave is to be located “at the location closest to Elvis Presley without moving any existing grave site.”

Elvis purchased the home in 1957 for $US100,000 ($A143,500). In 2020, Rolling Stone reported its estimated worth to be as much as $US500 million ($A718 million).
Elvis Presley's iconic Graceland estate will stay in the family following the death of his daughter, Lisa Marie. The mansion, located in Memphis, Tennessee, has become a popular tourist destination following the death of The King of Rock and Roll in 1977.
It is believed she had her permanent residence at Graceland as early as May 1963. Her parents eventually agreed to her living there if Elvis promised to marry her. Priscilla later said, "The move was natural. ... I was there all the time anyway."
After Lisa Marie's death in 2023, Graceland and her trust were inherited by her daughters, Keough and Harper and Finley Lockwood, a representative for Graceland confirmed to People.
Upon the deaths of her grandfather in 1979 and her great-grandmother in 1980, she became Elvis' sole heir; on her 25th birthday in 1993, she inherited the estate, which had grown to an estimated $100 million. Presley sold 85 percent of her father's estate in 2004.
Following Lisa Marie's death on Jan. 12, 2023, her daughter Riley Keough's rep confirmed to PEOPLE that the daughter of Elvis will be laid to rest at Graceland. "Lisa Marie's final resting place will be at Graceland, next to her beloved son Ben," a statement to PEOPLE read.
The house on the Graceland estate is a Colonial revival stone-laid mansion fitted with tall white columns. Inside the 17,552 square-foot-home is 23 rooms, including eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and five staircases.
The upstairs rooms could be accessed by Elvis' personal invitation only. Linda Thompson, another ex, lived with Elvis from 1972 to 1976 and remembers that his bedroom was “black, red and gold. … And no — the windows were ever opened,” she shares.

Priscilla and Elvis' Divorce Settlement
According to Celebrity Net Worth, when Priscilla and Elvis split in 1973, she got a one-time payment of $725,000. On top of that, Priscilla was granted spousal support, child support, 5 percent of Elvis' royalties, and half the money from the sale of their house.
So, did Priscilla Presley inherit from Elvis estate? Yes, she did. However, she was not the only one. Elvis' estate was divided among several people, with Priscilla receiving a little less than $1 million.
At the time of his death in 1977, Elvis Presley's net worth was around $5 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. (That's around $24 million today.) This figure was complicated by expenses related to Graceland and the fact that his record label was making money off his music, not Presley's estate or relatives.
