A four-year-old girl who went missing in southern Tasmania has been found alive and well. About 100 people had been involved in the frantic search for Shayla Phillips on the Tasman Peninsula since she went missing on Wednesday afternoon.
A four-year-old girl allegedly abducted from her family's tent in remote Western Australia 19 days ago has been found alive. Cleo Smith was found by police in a private home around 30 miles from the campsite and has been reunited with her parents, Western Australia police said in a statement.
"It was an effort of perseverance and the community also helped us. "No-one wavered in their resolve to find Shayla safe. "We were dealing with a four-year-old girl, we knew we had to find her, we had to do that crawling on hands and knees to locate her," he said. "And that's what SES did to locate her."
Cleo Smith, a four-year-old Australian girl, was abducted on 16 October 2021 from a campsite in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia (WA). She was found alive and well on 3 November, after police raided the home of Terence Darrell Kelly in the nearby town of Carnarvon.
Cleo's disappearance from a campsite on Oct. 16 set off an 18-day search for the toddler that grabbed headlines around the world. On Nov. 3, she was discovered by police in a locked room of Kelly's house, about 62 miles from the campsite where she went missing, Deputy Commissioner Col Blanch said in a video statement.
