A neutralizing concealer can cover up any bruise.
This will cover the bruise completely. First make sure your bruise is free of cuts, nicks, and stitches. Then choose a hypoallergenic concealer with a yellow base; the hue offsets blue discoloration. But if your bruise is red, you'll want to use a green concealer.
Ice not only helps with pain, but it can also slow bleeding, making the bruise less severe. Applying cold compresses for about 20 minutes at a time can help ease swelling and inflammation. Icing an injury during the first 24–48 hours usually provides the greatest benefit.
If you have redness, green will tone it down. Blue is mellowed with yellow. Purple calms down with a dose of orange.
Apply ice immediately after the injury. Apply heat to bruises that have already formed to clear up the trapped blood. Compression, elevation, and a bruise-healing diet can also help speed up the healing process.
Heal bruises
It is believed that toothpaste helps break up the clot and increase blood flow. People report noticing a difference after just one night, but it may take several applications to make the bruise completely disappear.
People should look for oral arnica, arnica gel, or arnica ointment that contains at least 20 percent arnica, which can be purchased online. It can be applied as directed on the product package.

Heals minor skin scrapes and bruises – Petroleum jelly keeps the area moist, preventing the wound from drying out and forming an ugly scab. It can also keep the scrape or bruise from getting worse. Remember to clean the area first before applying the jelly.
Location of the bruise: The location of the bruise can also impact the healing process. Bruises on areas with more blood flow, such as the face, heal faster than bruises on areas with less blood flow, such as the legs.
Arnica cream or arnica gel is a safe and effective option to deal with bruises and pain. Make sure not to apply arnica cream to any open areas of skin and rather let them start to heal up before starting to apply arnica to deal with the surrounding bruising.
In response to initial injury, skin may typically look pink or red, changing colour to bluish-purple soon after or within a day or two as the blood that has collected at the injury site changes color. Around 5 to 10 days, the bruise turns a green or yellow color.
In general, most bruising can heal without scarring. However, there are important exceptions. If the injury that lead to bruising caused a break in the skin, a deep cut or a gash, it may result in not only a bruise but also a scar.
Apply a cold compress for the first 24 to 48 hours after the injury. The quicker you ice, the more you minimize bruising. Avoid massaging the bruise or applying heat because it may make the bruise larger. After 48 hours, a warm compress can be used to help break the bruise apart and to encourage lymphatic drainage.
Bruised areas can swell and get worse in the first few days. After that, all symptoms should gradually diminish. If you have severe or increasing pain and swelling, fever, call your doctor for advice (and treatment if needed).
Always use a concealer color that is opposite to the color of your bruise on the color wheel. Use green concealer for red bruises, blue for orange bruises, yellow for purple or bluish bruises, and white for brown bruises.
Start by using a sponge or your finger to apply a thin layer of yellow cream to the area intended to look bruised. Next, dab a layer of violet cream mixed with navy cream on top. You can be creative here to make the bruise look interesting, as asymmetry will help make it more realistic.
Apply cold to the bruise for 15–20 minutes 3–4 times a day for a day or two after the bruise first appears. Raise the bruised area. To reduce swelling and bruising, raise the bruised area above the level of your heart. To do this, rest and prop the bruised area up on pillows, if possible.
