The most commonly requested solution for the “dot effect” is to use a lens to help diffuse the light. Inspired LED's Designer Series panels feature a texturized lens which helps to break up the light cast from each individual diode.
Use double-sided VHB (very high bond) mounting tape that is rated for strengths of 2lbs per square inch and higher. Make sure to check if your tape is graded as waterproof if you intend to mount outdoor LED strip lights.
Longevity. LEDs have an unbelievably long expected life-span, compared to both incandescent and fluorescent lights. With an average life-expectancy of some 50,000 hours, LED strip lights will still be burning bright in 17 years' time, long after their traditional counterparts will have expired.
If the LED light strip you bought is too long, you need to cut off the extra part. The first thing you should do is measure the right length. If you accidentally cut the strip too short, your effort will be wasted.
LED lights are too bright. Lightdims are specially designed, removable covers that act like sunglasses for irritating LED's on your electronics although this version blocks all light. LightDims are easy to use by simply peeling off and apply it to your electronics.
Because LED lights are cooler than other types of lightbulbs (meaning they don't get as warm), bugs aren't as attracted to them in general.
Ghost images result when parasitic current flows through LEDs that are intended to be in an off state (i.e. no current flowing through them); this causes very faint illumination or ghosting.
Paint An LED Bulb
The cheapest solution is to color the outside of your cool-toned LEDs with yellow or orange paint. This will convert any white light that is emitted to a warm, ambient color. For this cheap, DIY solution, everything you need is probably already in your craft box, no extra equipment necessary!
Different whites also have different lighting effects. Cool white is colder, which can calm people's emotions and make them feel refreshed; warm white is warm, healthy and comfortable; neutral white makes an interior space look more spacious and gives people a pleasant feeling.
WhiteDims are the perfect solution to dim/soften overhead indoor ceiling lights or outdoor lights without making the room to dark. If the lights are still too bright simply add another layer of White Dims. White Dims LightDims diffuse / soften harsh LED light and blend well with White Electronics.
LED strip is getting dim over time
If the input voltage here is below the expected voltage (e.g. 10V for a 12V LED strip) you are likely seeing an issue with the power supply or a loose / corroded connection between the LED strip and the power supply.
Even though LED Strip Lights use a low voltage direct current, exposure to water is still enought to short circuit the delicate components.
Don't cover LEDs with fabric.
It can be tempting to toss a shirt or scarf over those bright lights to block them from view, but it's not a great idea. Fabric tends to trap heat, which could cause your electronic item to overheat and even become a fire hazard.
Yes, but only some brands. The issue is the amount of heat that can build up in the enclosed fixture. LED bulbs are very sensitive to heat; if the air in the enclosed fixture becomes too hot, it will shorten the life of the bulb.
To put it simply, well-manufactured LED lights are extremely long-lasting and can be left on 24 hours, 7 days a week. This is because, unlike conventional types of light, LEDs produce minimal amounts of heat, which means they are unlikely to overheat or set on fire.
Yes, LED strip lights will work after they've been cut as long as you cut them along the designated lines. LED strips are made up of several individual circuits, so each cut line demarcates the end of one circuit and the start of a new one.
The longest continuous run will be either 16ft (5 metres), 23ft (7 metres), 32ft (10 metres), 50ft (20 metres), 65ft (20 meters) or 164ft (50 meters). You should not exceed these lengths as the LED strip will suffer a voltage drop and the brightness of the LEDs will not be constant along the strip.
