Given that Inosuke was an infant, he could not remember his birth mother. To him, his mother was the sow that raised him. She eventually passed away, so it is possible that Inosuke wears a boar's head as a remembrance of her.
He can't read or write, and struggles to say peoples names right, saying Monchiro instead of Tanjiro, or Monitsu instead of Zenitsu. He can be very rude, without the intention, and treating everyone as an enemy at first. Inosuke feeling giddy from Tanjiro's kindness towards him.
Inosuke was raised by wild boars in the mountains and created his own Breathing Technique called the Beast Breathing, which is based on wild animal instincts. Inosuke didn't receive any formal training, unlike Tanjiro from the former Water Pillar, or Zenitsu from the former Thunder Pillar.
The reason why Inosuke has feminine facial features could be due to the fact that his mother was extremely beautiful, and he inherited a massive portion of her genes. Fans never really saw his father and the only thing they know about him was that his father was abusive.
In her final moments, she apologized to Inosuke for failing to protect him and tosses him into the river as an attempt to save his life. She was ultimately killed and eaten by Doma, who claimed to have devoured her to the bone.
Seeing no escape route and nothing else to do, she desperately threw baby Inosuke into the river down the cliff in an attempt to save his life -- after which Inosuke would be discovered and raised by boars. Kotoha was then brutally murdered by Doma.
Although Inosuke refuses to acknowledge that he has met him before, Doma explores his memories and reveals that he met Inosuke when he was a child, and was responsible for killing his mother, causing Inosuke to fill with hatred and engage in combat with the Demon.
Beast Breathing, related to Wind Breathing, is a style developed by Inosuke. This style of breathing focuses on the unpredictability of animals, making the forms and overall fighting unpredictable and in the moment. Something that is crucial to Beast Breathing is utilizing the sense of touch.
Inosuke was found by wild boars, who protected and raised him as their own. Having almost no memory of his birth mother, Inosuke considered a female boar as his mother. It was revealed in the Demon Slayer manga that the mask Inosuke wears was originally the head of the mother boar that raised him.

Unfortunately, Gyutaro spots Inosuke and stabs him right through where his heart should be with a sickle imbued with deadly poison.
He considered these stories extremely boring and was confused why they came to a child for help. These people asked him to lead them to paradise, causing Doma to cry, since he never believed paradise, the gods and Buddha were real.
