So how do you become a better rated rider? In a blog post announcing the new setting, Uber recommends five ways to be a better rider. The company says take any trash with you, wear your seat belt, be on time, treat drivers with respect and, yes, don't slam doors.
You can change the star rating you gave a driver from the receipt emailed to you after your trip. From the email, select “Rate or tip.” You'll be redirected to your account on uber.com where you can update the rating.
It turns out that drivers rank us based on whether we keep them waiting, leave trash in their car and whether we act respectfully. The average rating for Uber riders is 4.89 out of 5, according to Uber, however, Ridester says you have a bad score if you're below a 4.7.
What is a Good Uber Rider Rating? Any rating above 4.7 is good to excellent. While a 5 star rating is the best you can get, it is virtually impossible to maintain. Drivers try to rate honestly, but sometimes you get the short end of the stick and catch them on a bad day, or do something they might not like.
The basic consensus is this: Anything above a 4.9 is excellent, possibly even worth bragging about on Tinder; the 4.8 range is good; the 4.7 range is merely fine; the 4.6 range is nearing the borderline. Once your rating dips below 4.6, drivers start thinking you might be a little sketchy.
Your rating is the average of your last 500 trips. If you want to help improve your rating, drivers have shared some of the top reasons they hand out fewer stars: Pack it in, pack it out: Drivers shouldn't have to clean up after you. Always make sure to take your trash and any other belongings with you.
We all know Uber ratings are a two way street, with riders and driver-partners rating each journey from 1 to 5 stars. But with less than 20 percent of riders having a perfect score, chances are you aren't one of the 5 star riders. So what's stopping you from achieving a perfect rating? It may be simpler than you think.
Rider comments are always anonymous. Ratings are confidential, so we can't provide information around the rating given for a specific trip. Riders will not see their updated rating until after they have rated you, so you can feel confident providing honest feedback.
The incentive is added to those drivers when the passenger has to pay a higher premium fee for this service. This means that excellent drivers will receive more rides as well as get paid better. The outcome of this concept? Passengers will be able to choose their driver based on personal preferences.
These ratings are of high importance for drivers. If they fall below 4.6, Uber will likely deactivate them from the program, and drivers with a rating of 4.8 or higher can qualify for VIP trips. Now, Uber allows us also see our detailed rating, although they have tried hard to hide on the app.
4. Low Uber Driver Ratings. You should ensure that your rating is always above 4.8 because if it falls below 4.6, you risk deactivation.
Don't worry. One low rating won't have a significant impact on your overall average. If you're consistently rated poorly, check out Uber resources, including tips from other delivery people. But not every trip will go perfectly and your rating won't stay perfect forever. The average driver rating is 4.7 stars, and anything above 4.85 stars is considered exceptional.

Once you delete your account, it will be immediately deactivated. After 30 days it will be permanently deleted, and any unused credits, promotions, or rewards will be removed. Uber may retain certain information after account deletion as required or permitted by law.
After each trip, riders and drivers have the opportunity to rate each other from 1 to 5 stars, based on their trip experience. Ratings are anonymous.
A driver or delivery person can lose access to part or all of the Uber platform for ratings that are below the minimum average rating in their city.

Whether you give your driver cash or just tip through the app, they receive 100 percent of the tip; Uber, Lyft, Gett and Via don't take a cut. Generally, drivers are just happy to get a tip, Mr. Helling said, and many don't have a preference for cash versus tipping directly in the app.

What About The Average Uber Rating? The average Uber rider rating is around 4.86. However, keep in mind that this number can vary depending on the city you're in and the Uber passengers you're riding with. In some cities, Uber passengers are more likely to get five-star ratings than others.
