Cross-device copy and paste requires the exchange of data between your PC and Android device. If you've allowed your devices to sync over mobile data, and you're not connected to a Wi-Fi network, then copy and paste will use data.
Tap or click the notification on your secondary device, select the copied item to add it to the clipboard, and paste wherever you wish to with your standard options.
Of the various third-party options, we like Clipbrd (free), a Google Chrome extension that works across Android and any desktop version of the browser. Just use your devices' copy and paste feature as you normally would (via keyboard shortcuts or menu picks), and Clipbrd will take care of the syncing.
Cut: Tap Cut or pinch closed with three fingers two times. Copy: Tap Copy or pinch closed with three fingers. Paste: Tap Paste or pinch open with three fingers. Select All: Select all the text in the document.
To cut or copy and paste between iPhone and another device, make sure of the following: You're signed in with the same Apple ID on both devices. On your Mac, you've turned on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Handoff. On your iPhone and on another iOS or iPadOS device, you've turned on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Handoff.
When you copy something on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, it's saved to the clipboard, ready to be pasted anywhere. However, your previous clipboard is overwritten and lost forever if you copy something else!
