Joe Mode is available in every Tesla model. To activate it, tap the Car (Settings) icon in the bottom left corner of the touchscreen, followed by Safety & Security, then scroll to the bottom to find the on/off toggle for Joe Mode.
The name “Joe” is a simple 'generic' name that is often used to name any person. In Tesla vehicles, this name stands for “Everybody”. The name of this feature does not say much, but most users still know its purpose.
Dog Mode is super straightforward—all you have to do is activate it via the climate control menu. To gain access to Dog Mode, you press the fan control to access more information and then toggle Dog on the menu. Once in Dog Mode, the vehicle will remain at a comfortable temperature in order to maintain your pet safe.
Which Vehicles are Compatible with Car Wash Mode? Not all Tesla models come with Car Wash mode. Anything older than the Model 3 and Model Y vehicles doesn't come with this special feature. That means that currently, you can use the feature on the Model 3, the Model Y, and the redesigned Model S and Model X models.
If washing in an automatic car wash, use touchless car washes only. These car washes have no parts (brushes, etc.) that touch the surfaces of Model 3. Some touchless car washes use caustic solutions that, over time, can cause discoloration of decorative exterior trim. Avoid exposure to soaps and chemicals above pH 13.
The battery will typically discharge in Dog Mode at a rate of 2 to 3% per hour, though this varies with the outside temperature and weather, the cabin's temperature setting, and the effectiveness of your Tesla's climate control systems.
Once you get back in the car and start driving, Dog Mode will automatically turn off. If you come back for just a minute and leave again, Dog Mode will remain on. Dog Mode is a fantastic feature and shows a clear benefit of electric cars, where you don't need to have the engine on in order to power the HVAC system.
Camp allows you to power electronics through the USB ports and low voltage outlet in addition to maintaining the cabin temperature. The touchscreen remains on so you can play music, browse the internet, play games in the arcade, or watch shows in Tesla Theater.
If a significant threat is detected, the cameras on your vehicle will begin recording, and the alarm system will activate. You will receive an alert from the Tesla app notifying you that an incident has occurred. To enable Sentry Mode on your vehicle touchscreen, tap 'Controls' > 'Safety & Security' > 'Sentry Mode.
His blue-green eyes attracted girls. However, throughout all his life Tesla was avoiding romantic encounters and anything that would lead into romance as thoroughly as other people sought for it. He dedicated all his life to scientific work and he couldn't let his thoughts “wander” into romantic fantasies.
Model X Light Show
There are a couple of Christmas-themed Easter eggs. All Tesla models have a Santa mode, for instance, where the digital car on the vehicle's screen turns into a reindeer-drawn sleigh controlled by Jolly Old Saint Nicholas. But only Model X owners have tickets to a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert.
Tesla's Santa Mode is a software setting that makes your display—and some audio features—Christmas-themed. With the push of a button, you can turn your Tesla into a holiday display, complete with Christmas music and a dazzling coordinated light show from your car.
If you choose Insane or Ludicrous, additional power is available immediately. However, to achieve the absolute maximum power (designed for short term use), you can choose Insane+ or Ludicrous+ to heat the Battery to its ideal operating temperature. This ensure access to 100% of available power.
Dog mode will remain on as long as you're gone. If the battery drains past 20%, dog mode stays on as long as possible—but it will turn off eventually if the battery loses all power, so it's a good idea to get back to the car as fast as you can. (Plus, you'll avoid being stranded with a dead battery.)
Don't leave your pet alone in your Tesla for long errands.
If you must be away for more than 10 minutes at a time, set an alarm to check on the cabin temperature every 10-15 minutes. While it may feel excessive to keep checking, just one HVAC failure can be catastrophic for you and your pet.
The filtration system is active whenever climate control is pulling in outside air. In extreme conditions, users can activate Bioweapon Defense Mode, which positively pressurizes the vehicle's cabin, preventing pollutants from leaking. All air is filtered through the HEPA and gas media filters in this mode.
Tips to Maximize Range
You can maximize your driving range using the same driving habits you use to conserve fuel in a gasoline-powered vehicle. To achieve maximum range: Slow down your driving and avoid frequent and rapid acceleration.
Dog Mode cannot be enabled until the vehicle is in Park. Adjust the climate settings to the desired cabin temperature. Tap the temperature icon to bring up the climate screen (bottom of touchscreen).
The most obvious is that the display stays on. It displays an animated balloon animal and shows the temperature inside the vehicle. While Dog Mode is enabled, Sentry Mode and the vehicle's alarm are both disabled to prevent them from going off accidentally. For more details about Dog Mode, view our Dog Mode page.
What's the safest way to wash a Tesla? Model S, X, 3 and Y with standard car washing techniques. If you don't want micro-scratches and the like, then that means doing it by hand.
Hand wash
It's the best way since it has the least amount of chance for contamination, and therefore less chance for scratches. There's the foam cannon method, which we typically do at our shop. Spray down the vehicle with a pressure washer to break down heavy dirt, foam it up, rinse, the foam it up again.
