In 1 Corinthians 12:7–11, we find nine gifts: wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miraculous powers, prophecy, distinguishing between spirits, “speaking in different kinds of tongues,” and “the interpretation of tongues.”
Talents Are Inherited / Gifts Are Received
Natural talents are those abilities inherited from one's parents and nurtured in the context of one's family. We all know people who are talented and come from a long line of family members who share the same talent (consider, for example, the Matthews family in the NFL).
As humans, we have been given the gifts of life that are greater than any other living being. And we all have these powerful gifts within us: our energy, our caring, our drive, our generosity and our love. Most importantly, we have been given the ability to choose.
The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are an enumeration of seven spiritual gifts first found in the book of Isaiah, and much commented upon by patristic authors. They are: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.
They are able to develop and use their four unique human gifts—self-awareness, conscience, imagination and independent will—and take an inside-out approach to creating change. They choose not to be victims, to be reactive or to blame others.
Others categorize them into "gifts of knowledge" (word of wisdom, word of knowledge, distinguishing between spirits), "gifts of speech" (tongues, interpretation, prophecy), and "gifts of power" (faith, healing, miracles).
Parents pledge to give their offspring just four presents: Something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read.

Seven was symbolic in ancient near eastern and Israelite culture and literature. It communicated a sense of “fullness” or “completeness” (שבע “seven” is spelled with the same consonants as the word שבע “complete/full”). This makes sense of the pervasive appearance of “seven” patterns in the Bible.
The five gift rule says that you should give five gifts to your loved ones: one for each of the following categories: something they want, something they need, something to wear, something to read, and a special gift.
According to this model, the gift-giving process has three stages -- gestation, prestation, and reformulation.
