Most types of dentures will lose their shape if they are not kept moist. Therefore, when you take your dentures out of your mouth at night, you should store them in a liquid-filled container. What kind of liquid? Many individuals use plain tap water or distilled water to soak their dentures.
Store dentures in a cup of water overnight
We recommend storing dentures in a cup of plain tap water overnight. You might clean the dentures with nonabrasive brush and denture cleanser before soaking them in water. Fill your cup with water, and leave your dentures in overnight.
When your dentures are not being worn, they should be kept safely in a closed container keeping them out of reach from children and pets. Keep your dentures in water or in a denture cleaning solution to keep them moist. Never place dentures in hot water, as they can warp and lose their shape.
You can use proprietary denture cleaning tablets or solutions ( eg. Steradent) to help loosen and remove stains and deposits. However, you should avoid leaving the dentures in the solution overnight. A 10-minute soak once or twice a week should be sufficient.
Storing dentures in water when you are not using them helps to keep your dentures free of bacteria as well as making sure they keep their shape. When dentures are not stored in water, they can become dry and brittle. This can cause them to crack or break.

What are the disadvantages of an immediate denture? The biggest disadvantage is the increased cost. Another disadvantage is that you cannot always see how the denture will look before the teeth are extracted and the immediate denture is inserted.
In most cases, well-fitted and well-maintained dentures do not need adhesive. Even when fitted by a competent and experienced dentist, many people feel more secure with the added safety net of an adhesive, which provides additional stability and enhances their ability to bite into certain foods.
Generally speaking, if dentures are properly fitted, denture adhesive is not necessary to keep them in place. If you feel that you need something to help your full or partial dentures stay in place, speak to your dentist about having your dentures refitted before attempting to fix the issue with adhesive.
Generally you should wear your dentures for at least 8 hours a day. This will give your gums and jawbone time to get used to the dentures and prevent sore spots from developing. It is best to take them out at night so that your gums can rest.

Immediate Dentures Aid In Healing & Prevent Dry Sockets
The immediate dentures can also help prevent any clotting from coming out and exposing nerves. This is called dry socket and it can be painful to deal with.
Indeed, there will be differences in your speech for the first few weeks of wearing your new dentures. You may find it uncomfortable to pronounce some syllables, and your voice may sound slightly different. However, there are ways for you to speak confidently again once you start getting used to your new teeth.
MAINTAIN A PROPER DIET
You may eat and drink 1 ½ hours after your surgery (use extra care to avoid trauma to the tissue from hard or hot foods while you are still numb). Foods should be soft and nutritious for the first several days. Add solid foods to your diet as soon as they are comfortable to chew.
Toothpaste is not intended to be used for denture cleaning and as a result can actually be harmful to your dentures. Opt for a denture cleanser and brush instead.
Can you perform oral sex? Of course it is. Many people are afraid to kiss another person or perform oral sex for fear that their partner – if he or she doesn't know – will notice that they have dentures.
After the first 24 hours, we highly recommend removing your dentures before going to sleep. That way, your gums have a chance to rest and stay healthy. Your gums were never designed to be covered by dentures 24/7, which is why you need to give them breaks.
