If you are concerned about unwanted tracking, Scan and Secure is a simple tool you can use to determine if there are unknown Tiles or Tile-enabled devices traveling with you. You don't need to have a Tile account or be part of the Tile Network in order to use this feature.
Tile is rolling out a "Scan and Secure" feature in its Android and iOS apps to help you detect unwanted tags. Use it and the app will check if any suspicious Tile tags (or Tile-equipped devices) are traveling with you.
If you don't notice anything that obvious, use your flashlight and mirror to check under the seats, under and behind the dash, inside and behind the glove compartment, and in the center console. Trackers can also be hidden in seat pockets, between seats, behind sun visors, and elsewhere.
After you hide a Tile, the app prompts you on how to unhide your hidden Tile. In the Tile app, tap Settings. Scroll down to and select Manage Hidden Tiles to see the Tiles you have hidden or replaced.
Scanning the QR code sends a notification to the Tile's owner that someone scanned their Tile. This is Tile's Lost and Found feature that allows a Tile owner to be notified if a person finds their lost Tile. If you happen to find a Tile, it's possible the owner lost it.
Using a Tile to track someone's location without their knowledge is not only against our terms of service, it is also against the law in many regions, and we do not condone the use of our technology in this manner.
Once ID verification is complete, the user will be registered with Tile, and Anti-Theft Mode will be activated across all of the user's Tile Bluetooth trackers. Syncing a government-issued ID with a Tile user's account is a proactive measure to deter the feature from being used for nefarious purposes, such as stalking.

When a Tile is activated to an account, it cannot be deactivated. However, it can be transferred to another account. In order to protect your privacy, you can have the seller contact our Customer Care team using their Tile app account email address so that we can transfer the Tile to you.
When you open the Tile app and tap on the Tile, you will notice a circle around that Tile's photo. If the circle surrounding the item is a solid green, then your Tile is in range. Ring your Tile to locate it. If the circle is dotted green and spinning, your Tile is in range, but it hasn't connected to your device yet.
And unlike AirTags, Tile trackers don't automatically play a sound or ping nearby iPhones. That means pet thieves are less likely to notice that they're being tracked.
The Tile has a QR code on the back
Scan the QR code with your mobile device camera. If the owner of the Tile has marked it as lost and entered their contact information, it will show so you can coordinate the return of the Tile and lost item.
You don't even need to have the Tile app installed on your device to use the QR code and receive the owner's provided contact info. Once the QR code has been scanned, the owner's information will be displayed.
Find the AirTag using a Bluetooth scanner
Because AirTag regularly emits Bluetooth signals that Apple devices can pick up, you can use a simple Bluetooth tracker for iOS or iPadOS to scan the area around you and see if an AirTag is nearby.
