In 2019 around 4.5% of pupils got a 9 grade (exam) That's about than 1 in 22.
While getting a 9 in GCSE Maths is difficult, it is not an impossible achievement. Put in the practice and hard work now and you'll have a very good chance of nailing it in your exams and getting the grade you're after.
Setting grade standards for GCSEs
A formula is used which means that around 20% of all grades at 7 or above will be a grade 9. The grade 8 boundary will be equally spaced between the grade 7 and grade 9 boundaries.

If you're aiming for a Grade 9 then you may need to look further afield for resources, other than just past papers, to help you excel in your weaker areas.
Is a 7 out of 9 a good grade? A score of 7/9 equates to a C+. C+ isn't a bad grade, but it's not a good grade either.
