No single piece can exceed 32kg (70lb). Where possible, we will endeavour to carry checked baggage on the same flight you're travelling on.
One piece cannot exceed 32 kg. Airlines often operate the "Piece Concept" for flights to and from the USA and Canada. This generally allows passengers 2 pieces of checked baggage, each up to 23kg. Elsewhere in the world the same airlines will operate the "Weight Concept", e.g., one bag of up to 20kg.
If you need to take a checked bag that is heavier than your 23 kg ticket allowance but still under the airport team handling limit of 32 kg, you will have to pay a charge at the airport known as a “Heavy Bag Charge”.

Baggage allowance regulations for Australia
Usually, 23 kg ( 50,71 pounds) is what most airline companies allow for international flights to Australia. Still, if you fly Emirates or Qatar Airways, you will be allowed up to 30 kilograms of checked baggage in economy class.
There are two ways you can purchase excess baggage: At the airport - If only additional weight is being carried, you will be charged INR 550 per kg (inclusive of taxes), irrespective of the fare you selected.
If your flight ticket is marked with the code “2 PC”, you may take two pieces of baggage, each weighing a maximum of 23 kg. If your flight ticket is marked with the code “3 PC”, you may take three pieces of baggage, each weighing a maximum of 23 kg.
For an additional fee, you can carry excess baggage heavier or larger than what is allowed on both our international and domestic sectors. The permissible weight of check-in baggage is 23 kg/50 lb. Overweight charges will apply for any baggage weighing between 23 kg/50 lb and 32 kg/70 lb.
Each bag should weigh less than 23KG/50LBS. This is an international regulation set for the health and safety of airport workers who have to lift hundreds of bags daily. If your bag weighs more than this, you may be asked to repack, or have it labeled as "heavy luggage".
You can bring as many bags as you wish as long as it is within your purchased or complimentary checked baggage allowance.
Domestic Economy passengers are permitted one 23 kg checked bag and Business passengers may check two 32 kg bags. Bags must not exceed 140 cm in total dimensions. On short-haul international routes, Economy passengers may check one 23 kg bag and Business passengers may check two 32 kg bags.
Liquid, aerosol or gel items must be in containers of 100 millilitres (volume), 100 grams (weight) or less. Containers must fit into one transparent and re-sealable plastic bag like a snap-lock sandwich bag. The four sides of the bag's sealed area must add up to no more than 80 centimetres (e.g. 20x20 cm or 15x25 cm).
If +7 kg has sold out, your items are too heavy (over 14 kg ) or your items are too big, you'll need to purchase a checked baggage allowance and your baggage will be checked in.
23kg is way more than enough for a weeks worth of clothes! If you plan on shopping in NYC, bring less buy more. :-) There are tons of videos on you tube on packing light. View a few and you will see how much 50lbs of clothes really is.
Maximum weight
No single bag or item can weigh more than 32 kg . If you have a checked-baggage allowance of 35 kg or 40 kg your baggage must be split over at least two bags, with no bag weighing more than 32 kg . If any single bag or item weighs more than 32 kg it must be carried as freight.
Medium-sized to large suitcases
The suitcases have a capacity of about 75 to 95 liters, which equals about 15 to 20kg of luggage.
Medium suitcases will generate a weight between 15kg (33lb) to 20kg (44lb) with regular packing.
What happens if my bags weigh more than my allowance at the check-in desk? If your Check-in Bag exceeds your baggage weight allowance (10kg or 20kg), you will be charged an additional excess weight fee per extra kilo at the airport.
Make sure one of your bags qualifies as a carry on and the other as a personal item. Then you can travel with two bags and zero worries. Pack everything you need without checking a bag.
International flights allow one, and often two, pieces of checked luggage per passenger. International luggage allowance is often influenced by whether the flight is intracontinental (within the same continent) or intercontinental (across the ocean or spanning different continents).
That means that if your checked bag weighs more than 50 pounds, your airline will charge you a set fee on top of their standard baggage rate. Most airlines also have a weight limit, usually 70-80 pounds, after which they don't accept bags, even for an extra fee.
