Note that the staff is permanent and it is not consumed; in fact, you can replay the Whimsyshire level as many times as you like. Whimsyshire can be accessed in both Adventure and story mode. If necessary, change quest and select Act I (e.g. "A Shattered Crown" or later).
1 Answer. You can use it multiple times. I've ran several on Normal, Nightmare and Hell without losing my staff. Also, When you upgrade your staff to the next level, you can still create the games from the lower levels.
Spectrum is a Legendary sword in Diablo III. It requires character level 30 to drop, and can only be obtained from unique monsters in Whimsyshire or Whimsydale, at a very low chance.
While Whimsyshire most exists for the portrait frame and the sense of accomplishment, getting to go to Whimsydale means lots of gold, crafting materials and gemstones. It rivals the Realm of Greed in terms of pure financial reward and loot to be on offer.
Whimsyshire is a Secret Level, or secret land, in Diablo 3. When you enter the Secret Level of Whimsyshire a Feat of Strength along with a Banner and Sigil are unlocked. You can run the Whimsyshire level as many times as you want and you will get the In The Land Of Killer Unicorns achievement for finding it.
Put the Staff of Herding in your inventory (it's not necessary to equip it). Note that the staff is permanent and it is not consumed; in fact, you can replay the Whimsyshire level as many times as you like.
The unique affix applies to any color of a gem (but not to Legendary Gems), and is perhaps most useful to builds limited in power by large cooldowns (due to doubling the effect of Diamonds). To ensure that the affix is readily available for use, the crown boasts a guaranteed socket as well.
They drop from Princess Lilian in Whimsydale (not in Whimsyshire).
Cosmic Wings drop from the unique monster Princess Lilian. She has roughly a 1% chance to spawn and is guaranteed to drop the wings on death. This is the rarest item in Diablo 3 and the main reason we're hunting Rainbow Goblins.
The Rainbow Goblin is a rare variant of the Treasure Goblin in Diablo III, introduced patch 2.1. 0. They never appear in Nephalem Rifts. They do not have any special drop, but open a portal to Whimsydale when killed.
The item will be account bound as soon as it drops. There is also a bounty quest to kill Chiltara, which may make finding the Huntress easier. Gemstone drop rate is approximately 5%, but as of patch 2.0. 5 the spawnrate of Chiltara has been increased.
Anything in Whimsyshire (or Whimsydale if you get a Rainbow Goblin portal) can drop Spectrum or The Horadric Hamburger. The piñatas and named boss mobs in those two areas have higher chances as well.
While it can roll Life per second (not normally available on a weapon), it is mostly sought as a transmogrification choice due to its absurd looks.
I used mine about 20-30 times to to open Whimsyshire to farm the Spectrum xmog before sacrificing it at the Altar. It is never supposed to be consumed by anything other than the altar. You can't even drop it on the ground or salvage it.
Can be found in Adventure Mode and is made easier to gather when the Bounty in Dahlgur Oasis is for clearing the Mysterious Cave Level 2 of all enemies.
Cosmic Wings
The rarest drop in the game. This is a random drop from a very rare monster named Princess Lillian who can be found when taking a Rainbow Goblin Portal to Whimsydale.
Princess Lilian, Divine Gifts, is a Unique Unicorn found in Whimsydale (only Whimsydale, NOT in Whimsyshire in Act I) of Diablo III. In combat, she has Arcane Enchanted, Illusionist, and Electrified affixes. Princess Lillian has a 1% spawn rate in Whimsydale, but if she appears, she drops Cosmic Wings on death.
Wings Of Destruction (Cape) (Dropped from Malxas) (1% Drop Rate)
The Menagerist Goblin, Napper of Pets is a variant of the Treasure Goblin in Diablo III, introduced in patch 2.4. 1. It can only appear in Adventure Mode, usually in open world (but on rare occasions, can spawn in Nephalem Rifts as well).
Diablo Immortal Wings are cosmetic items with no stats. Wing Cosmetic Tiers can be unlocked by reaching certain Resonance milestones starting from 1000 to 8000 at each 1000 mark increment. Tier 1 Wings will be unlocked at 1000 Resonance, Tier 2 Wings at 2000 Resonance and so on.
Queen Asylla was the wife of King Leoric.
Prince Aidan of Khanduras, later known as the Dark Wanderer, was the eldest son of King Leoric of Khanduras. Once a warrior, he later became a vessel for the Prime Evil Diablo.
Leoric's Crown is a cross-class common legendary item, marking them inefficient as a legendary to Upgrade Rares for. Nevertheless, Leoric's Crown can be obtained through this method and it can be considered for endgame, if your particular build requires this item perfected with specific, uncommon stats.
