Bellafill for the cheek apple will usually take 1 to 2 syringes per side. It is important for the provider to understand that Bellafill can be placed quite superficially.
Bellafill can replace lost facial volume in areas that have been affected by the aging process. These facial areas include the cheeks, lips, and chin. Additionally, it can be used to do a “liquid rhinoplasty,” commonly referred to as a “non-surgical nose job.”
Cheeks: Cheeks are very versatile and also the most challenging region of your face to treat. For each treatment, you'll need 10 to 15 filler syringes. Injecting too much filler might result in undesirable side effects, including a “duck-billed” appearance.
Bellafill stimulates collagen at the site of scars, filling them in. Typically 2 treatments are done 8 weeks apart. One syringe can do 9 scars on average.
The majority of patients over the age of 50 require more than one syringe per cheek due to the increased volume loss with age. It is not uncommon to use 2 to 2.5 syringes per cheek and 1 to 1.5 syringes in each nasolabial fold in order to achieve adequate correction that also looks natural.
For most people, treatment with 1 syringe in 1 specific area will be a subtle enhancement, which can be great for younger patients looking to maintain their appearance or those who do not want to see a lot of change.
Treating with 1ml at a time is certainly appropriate for some areas, such as volumising lips or having smaller tweakments into other areas of the face. Sometimes, however, more than 1ml may be required – in the cheeks, for example – as 1ml may not make a discernible difference.
How long does Bellafill last? Another compelling benefit of Bellafill vs. JUVÉDERM® and other dermal fillers is that it provides much longer-lasting results. In fact, the results of Bellafill often last up to 2 – 5 years or longer before a repeat injection is needed.
It is FDA-approved for correction of nasolabial folds and acne scars. Bellafill comes as a gel in pre-filled 0.8 mL syringes.
Because Bellafill is known to typically last 5 years, this filler works well in conjunction with the neck-jowl lift which can also give long-lasting results. Many patients are willing to pay more for less invasive surgery and longer lasting fillers.
Cheek highlights in a younger patient – often only 1ml. In reality many of my patients looking for improvement of a specific area only need about 1-2ml on average. Most people are surprised at the difference just one syringe of filler can make to a problem area.
To give you an answer to "How much is too much?" for cheek fillers, our answer is: anything more than 2ml (1ml per cheek) in 1 session is too much. You can build up the amount of filler in your cheeks, but this has to be done gradually over several visits.
Prices for 2 syringes of juvederm 4 start from 450. While 2ml of voluma (enough for a cheek enhancement) would be typically 600.
Radiesse® may be best for those who are primarily concerned with lost volume in the cheekbone area, while Voluma® might work better for people who want to plump multiple areas of the face. Radiesse® can provide results for anywhere from 12 to 18 months, while the benefits of Voluma® may be seen for up to two years.
Juvederm Voluma is the thickest filler in the Juvederm family. It is FDA approved for volumizing and augmenting the cheekbones along the zygomatic arch of the face. Voluma can also be used in deep nasolabial folds and marionette lines around the mouth.
Again, the amount you need all comes down to how much volume you have lost and the results you're looking to achieve, but practitioners will generally use 1-3ml cheek filler per cheek.
Due to the microsphere support structure, your skin will continue to improve for 12 months, and patients have a 90% satisfaction rate at this point. It's likely that even after 5 years your skin will continue to look healthy and smooth. Many people experience results that can last as long as 8-10 years after injection.
In the vast majority of cases, multiple syringes of filler will be needed to optimally enhance a person's face. Areas like the lips may only require 1ml of dermal filler to achieve the desired outcome. Other areas, like the cheek, may require anywhere from 1-4 syringes for a noticeable enhancement.
Most fillers come in a syringe with 1mL of product. That is approximately 1/5th of a teaspoon. A small amount of product can go a long way, but many times optimal results require more than one syringe to obtain.
Juvederm and Restylane fillers last longer than other fillers. Juvederm and Restylane are currently the longest-lasting and most durable dermal fillers on the market. Juvederm and Restylane are families of hyaluronic acid fillers with numerous possible formulations.
One of the main disadvantages of Bellafill is its higher cost compared to Sculptra and traditional fillers. Additionally, Bellafill injections can have a higher risk of side effects such as lumps, nodules, and granulomas.
The Results Improve Over Time
Because these injections stimulate your body's production of collagen and elastin, the final results of treatment won't be seen for several weeks. Even as the hyaluronic acid is processed by your body, healthy collagen and elastin grow at a more significant rate.
This filler works naturally, much like the hyaluronic acid your body already produces. Because it works this way, it takes two to three weeks to fully settle into your skin. This means that while you'll see an immediate improvement, you won't see your final results right away.
Cheeks are often very asymmetrical to start with and the injector may choose to attempt to correct it during the treatment. Sometimes asymmetry will occur because one side is more swollen or bruised. Mostly symmetry issues will resolve automatically by the time of the review appointment.
