Princess Diana's wedding dress was perhaps the most anticipated detail of her royal wedding to Prince Charles. Designed by husband-and-wife team David and Elizabeth Emanuel, the ivory taffeta gown was intricately embroidered with sequins, frilled lace, and 10,000 pearls, and valued at an estimated $115,000.
Lady Diana Spencer's wedding dress was an ivory silk taffeta and antique lace gown, with a 25-foot (7.6 m) train and a 153 yards (140 m) tulle veil, valued then at £9,000 (equivalent to $36,700 in 2021).
The rest is usually footed by the bride herself or her family, so it's thought Diana's parents paid for her wedding dress, especially as she was young (only 19) at the time and wouldn't have been earning a huge salary.

Folding the fabric over and over to fit Diana into the carriage was what caused the wrinkles on her dress, designer Elizabeth Emanuel told the Daily Mail. She stuck with tradition and wore something old, new, borrowed, and blue.
The now iconic ring features a 12-karat oval Ceylon sapphire set in 18-karat white gold and is surrounded by 14 solitaire diamonds. When Charles proposed to Diana in 1981, the piece was valued at $37,500.

It was worn for the first time to a 1994 dinner at the Serpentine Gallery in Kensington Gardens. The garment has been interpreted as having been worn by Diana "in revenge" for the televised admission of adultery by her husband Charles, then Prince of Wales.
She was given hundreds of clothing coupons by brides-to-be from all parts of the country to help her acquire the dress. She had to return these coupons as it was illegal for them to have been given away in the first instance. The designs for the dress were approved three months before the wedding.
