Character History
In June 1989, Spike eventually went into labor at the grade 8 graduation dance at the end of season 2, in the episode, Pass Tense. Both of them were 14 when Christine, who goes by Spike, got pregnant.
Degrassi Junior High
The character's storyline begins in the episode "It's Late", where after a sexual encounter with Shane McKay (Bill Parrott), she becomes pregnant.
The Grade 7s is the friendship between Emma Nelson, Manny Santos, J.T. Yorke, Toby Isaacs and Liberty Van Zandt. Their friendship began prior to Season 1 of Degrassi: The Next Generation as Emma, Manny and J.T. were friends in grade school while Toby and Liberty met them at the start of grade 7.
Emma, overhearing the argument, steps in and defends Manny, stating that while she disapproves of Manny's decision, it is Manny's body and ultimately her choice. Manny tearfully confesses her pregnancy to her mother. Her mother is supportive of the decision and drives her to an abortion clinic.
As he is looking for Liberty, he encounters two Lakehurst students named Johnny DiMarco and Drake Lempkey vandalizing his car. After he jokes about them thinking his car "sucks", Drake stabs him to death as his back is turned.
After having unprotected sex with Craig, Manny, at 14, found out she was pregnant. She made the decision to have an abortion, which did not sit well with her uber religious parents. In its second season, "Degrassi" aired "Shout," a moving two-part episode in which Paige gets raped at a high school party.
In Something's Got to Give it is revealed that Eli is the father of Clare's baby and not Drew as previously thought. Eli caught Clare making out with Drew in Sparks Will Fly (2).
In Don't Let Me Get Me (2), K.C. and Jenna talk about how she revealed that she was pregnant on television. K.C. is angry that Jenna didn't inform him nor did she ask him to announce her pregnancy on TV, while knowing his mother watches.
Spinner and Emma never actually dated or even had much interaction, but married each other one night after getting very drunk at a casino. After realizing they did, in fact, love each other, Spinner and Emma decided to stay married. They are the only original characters from the first season to get married.
Flashbacks in "Fool for Love" (season 5) show that Spike was sired as an adult in 1880. Assuming he was in his early to mid 20s when he was sired, Spike would be in his 140s during the series.
Spike starts out as a minor character in Degrassi Junior High, but comes into prominence late in the first season, early in November 1988, when she is impregnated by her very first (unprotected) sexual encounter with her boyfriend, Shane McKay (portrayed by Bill Parrott) ("It's Late", DJH ep. 111).

Clare loses her virginity to Eli in this episode. Clare and Eli's hotel room number is 605, which may be a reference to season 6 episode 5, Eyes Without a Face (1), where Aislinn Paul made her first appearance as Clare Edwards.
In Bitter Sweet Symphony (2), Eli and Clare discover Cam's body in the school's greenhouse where he lies dead. They didn't show how Cam died.

In the show's fifth season, Liberty becomes pregnant after the two become sexually active, with Liberty ultimately deciding to put the baby up for adoption . He then begins to date Mia by the sixth season, but has second thoughts about Liberty.

Schmidt was credited as a series regular on Degrassi in the first three seasons (2001–2004). After that, she left the show to continue her career in modeling. Her character, Terri, had left due to fear of her abusive boyfriend Rick, who had put her in a coma near the end of the third season.
