Glenfiddich is a Scotch and Scotches are best served neat (or straight) — at room temperature. That means no refrigerating! Don't ruin your Scotch's treasured flavours by refrigerating or freezing! On the rocks.
In addition to adding a splash of soft, still spring water to your single malt, other ways to enjoy your Glenfiddich's rich oaky flavours and sweet taste (although some kick against these) are: on the rocks, with club soda, and with ginger ale.
The simplest way to enjoy your whisky is neat, cleansing your palate with cool water between sips. Some people also add a few drops of water to their whisky, which can open up the flavors as the liquids combine. Experiment to see what works for you, but go slowly. Don't add too much water at once.
Combine Glenfiddich, lemon juice, ginger syrup, pineapple juice and either shake or stir. Pour over ice, top with a dash of soda and garnish with candied ginger and pineapple leaf.
Glenfiddich whiskies are smooth, pleasant, and easy-to-drink drams. You can enjoy them straight from the bottle with no additions.
The Bottom Line. Glenfiddich 12 is a single malt that can appeal to the entire spectrum of scotch drinkers, and it's a great starter bottle for any whisky collection.
Scotch and coke is a popular night club drink in many southern European countries, and it's normally a J&B or Ballantine's and coke, not just any old Scotch. Brand loyalty is strong whether Scotch is mixed or served straight. And where would American whiskey be, Jack or Jim, without coke?
Choosing your whiskey serving style is like picking your life partner – it's all about personal taste. If you're a fan of living life on the edge, go ahead and drink it neat. But if you prefer to take things slow and steady, whiskey on the rocks is your soulmate.

Add water, if desired, little by little to your taste. If you do prefer cold scotch however, fill your glass with ice rather than adding one or two cubes. More ice will keep your scotch chilled, without diluting it too much.
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 40%
Glenfiddich's solera is always kept at least half full, making Glenfiddich 15-year-old Solera Reserve noticeably sweeter and fuller than the Glenfiddich 12-year-old. A round, mellow and hugely sippable dram that reeks of classic Speyside elegance and fruitiness.
The mouth feel is a little light, but it goes with the feeling of the dram; with a 40% ABV there is nothing harsh but there is a light spice. A flowery sweetness follows with the green fruits then making an appearance, and a wee sensation from dark fruits coming through from the sherry casks used for maturation.
Very smooth. Finish: Sweet, touch of oak and general fruit, oily. Overall: Stereotypical Speyside. Consistent - a good benchmark.
Excellent & Unique Taste
Both the locally sourced barley and the spring water from the neighbouring Robbie Dhu Springs, which are both of the highest calibres and add to the whisky's flavour, are used by Glenfiddich. The final taste of the whisky is also influenced by the yeast used in the fermenting process.

If you've got one-and-a-half ounce glasses (the “standard drink” size for 80 proof spirits, also called a jigger), there are almost 17 full shots in a bottle of whiskey – 16.9, to be precise.
Depending on the ice cubes used, when they melt it can temper the flavors of your whisky. However, it does reduce the burn of alcohol which some drinkers appreciate. “It's like hugging yourself when you're cold – when it's cold, whisky keeps all its flavors wrapped up rather than releasing them.”
“I'd suggest water instead,” says Sam MacDonald of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. “Whisky, particularly if it's cask strength, can actually have its flavours amplified by adding a little water. But, add ice, and you're going to dilute the flavours. The best way to drink whisky will always be neat.”
THE BOTTOM LINE: Adding a little water to whisky will open up the nose and bring out more nuanced flavors, but the ideal amount of water will vary depending on the drinker.
Whiskey and Coke is a highball cocktail made by mixing whiskey, typically bourbon or Tennessee whiskey, with Coca-Cola or other colas. A popular version of the drink is Jack and Coke (also referred to as JD and Coke or Jack Coke), where the Jack Daniel's brand of whiskey is used.
Cola. Whisky and coke is a classic combo. The sweet caramelly flavours of cola are a delicious match for the honeyed rich notes of scotch. Serve your way with tons of ice, a lime wedge or go to town with an ice cream float.
Glenfiddich Grand Cru is a 23 year old single malt, which has been aged in American and European oak casks before being finished in French oak cuvée wine casks for up to six months. It's an excellent whisky for the money.
