I had seen Ninja Scroll, the Movie first before I watched the series version. The gap was about a year and a half apart, and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie despite its mature content. The series takes place after the movie's storyline, obviously.

A Japanese animated television series named Ninja Scroll: The Series aired in Japan in 2003 and ran for 13 episodes. The series is a stand-alone sequel to the film; however, many references suggest that it is indeed a continuation.

Although of a similar style, Ninja Resurrection is not a sequel to the anime film Ninja Scroll, despite being marketed as one outside of Japan.
Basilisk: The Ouka Ninja Scrolls as I mentioned is a sequel series, and it takes place 10 years after the events of the original. After the Kouga and Iga clans' fighting forces were mostly wiped out during the events of the season, this series draws focus to the successors of the clans.
It should be noted, however, that the violence is very, very strong here, including sequences of explicit sex (and even rape). This is definitely not for kids.
Ninja Scroll is a satisfying entry for both monster and ninja films, but it's full of blood, severed limbs, and explicit sexual content and it goes without saying that it's only for adults.

Ninja Scroll is a fantastic work of animation; both vibrant and exhilarating..it's one of the best action titles in anime history, how ever don't let the fact that it's animated fool you; Ninja Scroll contains hard R-rated content such as bloody and gory violence, sexuality, nudity and rape.

Violence breaks out roughly every 10 minutes, from regular duke-it-out escapades to high-tech rocket launchers and machine gun fire. There's a fair amount of cursing as well; although it doesn't occur regularly, it helped to earn the movie's "R" rating.
Ninja Scroll is admirably unabashed when it comes to showcasing bloody guts, gore, and weird creepy crawly things. These moments aren't just for shock value, but rather an integral part of the action and story.

Michael Treanor was unable to return as Rocky because he had quit acting by then. Max Elliott Slade was the only brother from the first film, to return for the second film. Michael Treanor and Chad Power did not return and were replaced by Sean Fox and J.

Rocky is the oldest of his brothers and deemed the wisest. His attacks themes are based on cleverness and strength (at which sometimes brutal). By default, his younger brother look to him for a sense of guidance.

He was able to blind the Basilisk, which allowed Harry to fight her without the fear of being killed instantly by her gaze.
