C1 Advanced – Level C1
If you achieve a scale score of 180–199 (grade B or C) in your exam, you will be awarded the Certificate in Advanced English at Level C1.
Level C1 corresponds to proficient users of the language, i.e. those able to perform complex tasks related to work and study.
C1 Advanced (formerly known as Cambridge English: Advanced – CAE) C2 Proficiency (formerly known as Cambridge English: Proficiency – CPE)
Hundreds of universities and colleges across the USA accept C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency for admission; including top institutions such as Harvard University, Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Dartmouth College, Wellesley College and The Juilliard School.
A C2 Proficiency qualification shows the world that you have mastered English to an exceptional level. It proves you can communicate with the fluency and sophistication of a highly competent English speaker.
The Cambridge Certificate C1 Advanced (CAE) is difficult to pass without proper preparation. Even if you think you have decent language skills it will test your grammar thoroughly and you may have difficulties on many levels.
In order to progress from C1 to C2, a student needs to further develop their listening skills. This means they should become adept at understanding idioms and complex expressions.
Other level names in this convention are: A1- Breakthrough, A2- Waystage, B1- Threshold, B2- Vantage, C1- Advanced, C2- Mastery. Which CEFR level is the highest? C2 (Proficiency) is the top level you can achieve on the CEFR scale.

Candidates with an IELTS score of C1 have a good chance of being admitted to prestigious universities. Candidates with an IELTS CEFR level C1 have advanced English language abilities. IELTS score C1 demonstrates the candidate's advanced language proficiency.

The answer is yes! You will need to work a lot harder and be serious about your preparation for the C1 Advanced exam. While the B2 First shows you have a good grounding in English, the C1 Advanced is closer to the level of a native speaker.
CEFR C1. A regular study schedule of 700–800 hours is needed to complete Level C1. At this level, you should be able to comprehend texts that are lengthier and more complicated and their implied meanings, converse freely and spontaneously with others, express yourself, and use English in a variety of ways.
You can definitely and easily reach C1 level within a time frame of 1 year. I completed A1- B1 level in 4 months(4 hours of German class, five days a week). The candidate must have spent at least three years working in job group C1. The applicant must also possess at least a diploma. Secondary Teacher II refers to diploma-holding secondary school teachers. Once three years have passed since their deployment, these teachers are automatically promoted to grade C2.

The best indicator to know once you're ready for the CAE is taking mock exams every week to check the progress and your level. If your score is around 70% in the mock exam, that should tell you, that you're ready for the exam. Cambridge even offers a placement test on their website, which students can do.
C1 Advanced
– Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer clauses, and recognize implicit meaning. – Can express ideas fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. – Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic, and professional purposes.
A well-educated native English speaker is technically at a C2 level. Relatively few English learners reach this level because their professional or academic goals do not require it.
If you are at C1, then you are bilingual and have been for some time. Bilingual is not an either/or condition, there is a graduation of fluency.
At C1 level you could work in an office managing people and departments; many universities will demand this level if you want to study alongside native speakers. C2 level demonstrates a level of proficiency that might be considered superior in some aspects to many native users.
