She was born in the Enchanted Forest as a member of the Northuldra. During her childhood, Iduna befriended Prince Agnarr of Arendelle, whom she would eventually marry, thus becoming queen to his kingdom. Together, the couple had two daughters, Elsa and Anna.
Disney's Frozen 2 sees Elsa searching for who she really is as she follows a mysterious voice. In Disney+'s Into the Unknown: Making of Frozen 2 co-director Jennifer Lee confirms the voice is Elsa's mother Iduna (Evan Rachel Wood) who she sees as she reaches Ahtohallan in the ice.
8. Is Ahtohallan horrible or amazing? Elsa and Anna's parents didn't die by shipwreck where we thought they'd died by shipwreck (always a fun, uncomplicated topic for kids!); they actually died by shipwreck trying to journey to Ahtohallan, the mythical island they believed held the answers to Elsa's powers.
Anna and Elsa's parents perished in a shipwreck early in the film's first act. King Agnarr and Queen Iduna didn't get to see their daughters grow up.
She had kept it a secret, likely fearing how the Arendellians would react due to the conflict between their groups. This also explains why Iduna heeded Grand Pabbie's warning in the first film and decided to keep Elsa sheltered from the people of Arendelle in order to avoid more fear and tension.
Spoilers for "Once Upon A Time" past this point.
And after Anna (Elizabeth Lail) visited the rock trolls (yep, those of "Fixer-Upper" fame), that particularl family lineage was confirmed: The Snow Queen is the sister of Elsa and Anna's mother, Gerda.
Frozen 2: Anna and Kristoff have a son!
They're going to embark on an adventure together, and Honeymaren will be Elsa's girlfriend, even if the movie never comes out and says it.
ANNA is a princess and Elsa's younger sister. She does not know why her sister hides from her and misses her. Anna wants to fall in love and get out of Arendelle's castle. KRISTOFF is an ice salesman.
Provenance. Originally Elsa was simply a short form for the biblical name Elisabeth and some of its variants: Elisabet, Elisabetta and Elizabeth. The first record mentioning the name were in Sweden at the 15th century, and became generally used after the 19th century.
Elysium is the first daughter of Elsa and Jack Frost, protagonists in Frozen and Rise of the Guardians. She is also a Princess of Arendelle and Junior Guardian of Winter. She is the older sister to Elise and is the first heir to the Throne of Arendelle.
Following that action-packed climax, Anna is crowned the new queen of Arendelle, taking over from Elsa, and marries her love Kristoff (Jonathan Groff).
Elsa was a self-proclaimed Snow Queen, but she was a villain and pure evil - much more like the Hans Christian Andersen tale." Peter Del Vecho says they changed the ending of the film because it was too similar to previous Disney stories and they were worried it wouldn't stand out.
Elsa Pataky is praising husband Chris Hemsworth as a "wife tamer."
Elsa's Mother Already Comes From A Magical Background
One of the memories Elsa is shown in Ahtohallan is of Queen Iduna interacting with the air spirit as a child. Frozen 2 doesn't confirm Iduna's magical powers, but makes a pointed effort to highlight her magical background.
While the voice was calling Elsa to reveal her past to her, it was ultimately revealed that Queen Iduna (Evan Rachel Wood) - Elsa's mother - had a lot to explain as well. This, coupled with the reveal that the call was Iduna all along, means Elsa was hearing the voice of her long-lost mother.
Marshmallow [nb 1] is a giant snow-monster created by Elsa in a moment of fear to force Anna and Kristoff to leave her ice palace.
Anna is the youngest child in the royal family of Arendelle, whose older sister, Elsa was born with the power to create and control ice and snow.
Snow White (1937)
The first of all Disney princesses, Snow White appeared in Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937. The actions of her jealous stepmother cause her to run away, but her good nature and ability to make new friends is what ultimately saved her.
However, the filmmakers were willing to say one thing definitively: "Elsa's not going to have a romantic relationship in this," writer-director Jennifer Lee told a group of journalists gathered at Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Kristoff. Their adventure having brought them together, Anna and Kristoff began a romantic relationship. Anna initially recruited Kristoff to aid her in finding Elsa.
Alone with Hans, Anna explained that she had been struck by Elsa's magic, elaborating that the magic had froze her heart and could only be remedied by an act of true love.
According to Jennifer Lee, Anna is 18 years old in the film, while both Elsa and Kristoff are 21 years old and Hans is 23 years old.
Climax: Elsa's magical winter becomes a full-blown blizzard, endangering everyone in Arendelle. Anna is betrayed by Hans, who reveals his plot to become King of Arendelle by forging a marriage with Anna and murdering Elsa. Unable and unwilling to give her a true love's kiss, Hans leaves Anna to die.
